Change your User Agent to Firefox (Tools-User Agent-Firefox 2.0) - it may be that it is only reading the browser id string.

Nice build. As guenter said lacked the MFC71u.dll, but came right up after I downloaded the .dll. Thank you for going to all the trouble.

K-M usually follows whatever resolution you have set up through windows. I have the Samsung 22 inch monitor. The resolution is set to 1280x1024.

I believe what you are dealing with on this page is a "web bug" - also known as an invisible GIF. Actually, it is setting up quite a few javascripts to google-syndicated ad pages (and compiling a profile of your browser, cookies, history, etc,). Since you need the javascript to do the calculation, turning off javascripting defeats the purpose of visiting the web page. The following are

@Dorian - I am in agreement with enaitzjga. Rather than do away with favicons, allow an option for those who want an obese number of bookmarks not to use the favicons. Favicons have become one of the marks of a mature browser for some. I cannot understand 5000 bookmarks - it would take three and a half days to click through and look at them at the rate of one a minute!

@nickart - did you actually use Windows Explorer to search as per the instructions given?

Bring up Windows Explorer. Make sure you are in the C:\ or root directory. Click on the Search Button and under Find all files and folders type in bookmarks.html. This will give you the location of all your bookmarks.html whether they belong to K-M or Firefox or Seamonkey or whatever. Just look at the various directories and you'll be able to track them down.

Depending on how you installed K-M, the best bet is to simpy copy bookmarks.html to wherever you want to store it. Generally, if you did the multi-user install, using Windows Explorer manuever to \Documents and Settings\"yourname"\Application Data\K-Meleon\default\funnynumber\. Just copy this to your "data drive".

I have used Orca alpha 3 and it does connect through a proxy. So, it does work. It is very fast (though unstable at times). Hao's CCF version v.9 has really gotten to be a nice program. It too is fast and has no problems with the proxy. K-M 1.5 is no slouch and on some pages is faster than Orca or Hao's K-M. Dorian's K-M is flawless with its proxy.

Keep in mind that while this RC may work with some pages, certain news organizations are slow to "upgrade" to the "latest and greatest" and may not recognize the v10 player only v9 and lower.

If you are using K-M 1.5, click on Edit-Preferences-Privacy & Security - then over to the right there is a button that says Currently Stored Cookies. Click on it and a box will come up with all your cookies and you can select which ones you want to delete. To delete all the cookies at once Tools=Privacy-Clear Data-Clear Cookies.

Were you to search the forum, you might find a couple of dozen threads on this topic. There is even one here http://kmeleonbrowser.org/forum/read.php?1,81876 on this same page. I have tried a number of these. There are a lot of folks that swear that changing these makes a huge difference. They may on a slow machine or on a very slow connection. I have found that there is very little difference

In answer to your first query, I believe all your have to do is click on Tools-Mouse Accelerators and choose Firefox or Seamonkey.

The "bookmarks toolbar" is really a folder off of Bookmarks called "Personal Toolbar Folder". What I would suggest is that you make several subfolders underneath "Personal Toolbar Folder" and then add your bookmarks to those subfolders. These subfolder names would appear in the bookmarks toolbar and when clicked upon would show the bookmarks stored in that subfolder.

The installer will default to where it finds a previous K-M installed. The installer will allow you to place the install in a different folder or it will allow you to create a new folder completely. then install your new K-M. Now - this is important - If you want your previously installed K-M to run in addition to your newly installed K-M, be sure to uncheck the multi-user preference when you

1) Disable javascript generally does it. 2) The only program I found (and it does not work for all 'layer' ads) for K-Meleon is Ad-Muncher. Unfortunately, you do have to pay a nominal fee after the 30 day free trial (one time only). The advantage is that it works with all browsers because it is installed through Windows. While there is an .xpt to install it for Seamonkey (so that you

The browser you choose depends on how you like to surf the web. Given that, there seem to be three preferences that most feel are important 1) the speed of rendering a webpage 2) a small memory footprint that remains stable in doing this and finally, 3) using add-ons to modify the behaviour of the browser. On the first two preferences, K-Meleon will be at the top of everyone's list. It i

As you visit each webpage using your bookmarks, the icon should change. I have also found that if you change (in about:config): browser.chrome.favicons to true and kmeleon.favicons.titleBar to true bookmarks will often pick up icons that it has missed.

Read this to fill you in how others feel: http://kmeleonbrowser.org/forum/read.php?1,81087 Change your user agent to Firefox (Tools-User Agent). This normally spoofs websites to let you proceed without the message.

If you originally installed 1.1.5 as a multi-user, bookmarks.html will be located in C:\Documents and Settings\(yourname)\Application Data\K-Meleon\default\funnynumber\ If you update 1.1.5 to 1.1.6 as a multi-user by running the installation .exe, you should not have to copy bookmark.html anywhere; all of your settings will remain the same. Bookmarks.html will always be found in either of

@sufi - check the status of your Cookies - Edit-Preferences-Privacy to make sure that they are set to "Always". I believe that 1.5 comes defaulted to "From the Originating Website". Not allowing Cookies on some sites sometimes gives you the message that the browser cannot connect.

K-M's 1.1.6. Gecko engine is based upon Seamonkey's. Whenever a new version of Seamonkey comes out, generally, Dorian, kko, and others upgrade K-M and will probably do so until that Gecko engine expires. K-M's 1.5 Gecko engine is likewise based (for now) on the same engine as K-M 1.1.6. It is the next iteration in K-M's evolution and when Dorian, kko, and others are ready, its

@kko - it makes sense to me to keep K-M's development number the same as the Gecko engine number for consistency. It is already listed as 1.1.6 on Major Geeks: http://www.majorgeeks.com/

Actually, some "add-ons" will not affect K-Meleon - of course, some will. Go to http://pagesperso-orange.fr/jujuland46/JujuLand/KMES/KMES-Download.html#down_extensions to review various extensions. It will get you started.
