you can also do g kmeleon and y kmeleon(yahoo!) if you enable favourites plugins because km supports internet explorer's keyword search url, reads them from the registry.. download this registry file: (right click-save target as) http://starvega.bizhat.com/searchurl.reg it contains a lot of kkeyword searchurls i've collected through the years, before merging the file into the reg

i replaced the blank.html file inside embed jar but it still displays the original blank page.. which doesn't make any sense, there's another blank.html inside console2.. replaced that aswell but as expected that didn't work. where is the blank.html page? or is it linked inside some css file p.s. when typing about:blank (not just closing last tab) it's a blank page.. i&#

grail is a no no.. it's written with python. i have python runtimes, and i have inkscape.. python is not that bad but for a browser..something that requires constant interaction and connecting.. python is not a good idea. phaseout is ie shell with terrible api skin.. not trying that one shenz looks weird.. but they have own engine, so will try that, also "Requires Windows2000 or

you need to uninstall sp3 and test first for the system stability before plunging into updating the bios. your problem doesn't sound like a bios problem, bios problems are not sporadic meaning if a bios error is causing a crash right when you boot.. it will happen everytime in the exact same manner. a psu problem will not cause your os to crash but will cause the whole computer to sudd

third generation web is the debatable web 3.0, otherwise known as cloud computing a.k.a housewives computing.. other words, you do all your word processing, stylesheeting, image editing online with web applications via your web browser. browser claiming its the only third generation one is pretty vague.. especially that we're in the very early stages of cloud computing.. and a shell brows

1.teega browser http://www.delamarepro.com/teega/publish.htm requires .net 2.0.. i can tell you right away it isn't worth the trouble 2.smart bro and runecap are ie shells from the donut school.. no point trying these, if you need a browser to read saved pages with a folder pane.. just get the original donut 3.lunascape site's dead 4.spacetime is a 3D browser.. stay clear from

@panz, you don't have to promise.. it's actually fun testing out all those programs, but those will take a while so i'll give a quick feedback on tcl/tk which is actually somewhere on my pc.. this is a very raw browser with khtml engine(predecessor of apple's webkit) and uses tcl whatsit runtime which is very basic. it's a very simple browser(even simpler than offby1), d

i was thinking about something.. the close button was introduced with 1.5.1 right? please try this.. uninstall kmeleon completely, and download version 1.5.0 from the download page: http://kmeleon.sourceforge.net/download.php test it out and see if it has the same problem, if it doesn't.. that probably means the bug is related to the close button. EDIT: alain, if possible can you t

kmplayer is similar in concept to mpcstar, it uses directshow filters without the need of registering them. it was able to play some quicktime formats rather good but had issues with 3gp.. it seems to have a more recent quicktime alternative than the one supplied with mpcstar but i don't know why those players never seem 100% compatible with quicktime. vlc plays 3gp but without sound. kmpla

it seems kmeleon was running when your pc crashed that causes windows to expunge some files from your profile folder. unfortunately it appears that your favourites(bookmarks) are gone forever you will need to create a new profile folder. 1. open kmeleon 2. in kmeleon> click on edit menu and select manage profiles 3. in manage profiles dialog, click on new button and then check 'ask

Quotedisrupted i found a good link on comet's site for this video player: http://www.mpcstar.com/ it's similar to vlc.. comes with own codecs and doesn't need directx, has a nice simple interface like old wmp or mpc.. it seems stable, will have to test out it more (especially with qt formats like 3gp which vlc normally has issues with) mpcstar wasn't able to properly render

panzer, judging by their snapshots; both enigma and acer appear to be variants of the original donut browser.. which was one of the very early ie shells. i actually still have and use it for reading saved pages because it has a folder pane which makes it very easy to browse through local folders

theoretically, yes.. you can run xp on a slow machine like that, you'll need to disable a lot of features and 'eye-candy' and ofcourse services that you won't need.. you will have to make do without any resident programs especially an antivirus. this will require certain restriction and administrative policies to secure that machine without malware scanning programs.. you will

this is either a corrupted profile or incompatible remnant kmeleon files from previous versions. first delete existing profile(backup your bookmarks.html first), create a new profile and check if everything is working normally... ..if not, do a clean install: uninstall kmeleon and delete all kmeleon files manually if you have to, install kmeleon 1.5.1 in a new folder.
