another "banned" word is "d e b u g g e r" (w/out the spaces in that d-word) why can't I use that word? Even hyperlinks that mention that "D" word get banned as well. needs fixing or improvement.

Quotecagwu@yahoo.com I do not get error on any dll. The error I get open (Visual Studio Just-In-Time Debug) dialog box that says (Unhandled win32 exception occurred in K-Meleon.exe[3248]). And you have the option to start VS debug app by clicking Yes or No. I think the VS Just-In-Time debug software itself is causing problems with KM. Disable it or remove it from your XP system completely (do

what version of Windows are you using, caktus? and what plugins and/or KM addons/extensions do you have installed? I no longer use KM 1.5.4 under Vista as I've gotten crashes with that version after closing the browser window. Just about all my crashing problems have gone away when using KM 1.6a4 under Vista.

Quotepanzer Does this version work normally? There has been problems with the last version Wladimir put out. we'll have to wait for a response from desga2, guenter or forever to really answer that one, panzer. since I'm using KM 1.6a4, ABP won't work with that version so I can't tell you if the revised ABP for KM will work as normal.

Quotedisrupted adp button bug happened after update, i noticed it(with a default test profile 1.5.4, 1.1.4) and already emailed palant about it so it was that silly ABP button bug that's causing problems with KM. interesting. we'll wait for a response from Palant and see what he has to say.

old news, panzer. Maone had already apologized for his big mistake last year and paid for it. I accepted it already. Time for everyone to move on beyond this. I still will use Noscript under FF/SM but not under KM anymore.

Quotesiria The problem is just that NoScript despite its popularity isn't quite honest, some actually call it spyware, and occasionally it creates problems with other extensions or settings... There was another lengthy discussion about it here a few months ago... although the creator of NoScript may debate/dispute about that.

Quotedisrupted use policy manager extension, it's a much better extension and better integrated in kmeleon . however, policy manager extension supports KM versions 1.1x to 1.5x. it may not work with K-meleon 1.6 alphas and 1.7 alphas. I'll have to wait for that extension to be updated to support KM 1.6a/1.7a.

Quotechrismt Recently I did some security tweaking and used nlite to remove some services and tweak the XP with some apps and disabled some services I just think this might be the problem I am typing this from K-Meleon latest stable this is a bad idea using XP with nlite removing certain essential services. I have a "normal" XP SP3 machine (no nlite software installed mess

Quotesiria Perhaps it's "almost" finished KM 1.6 will be "almost" finished when it reaches late beta or any RC release of it. it's still far from a finished product and hasn't reached beta status yet.

Quotechrismt I have to admit, the latest version of NoScript is not compatible with K-Meleon oh well; thanks for trying anyway, chrismt. time to move on w/out Noscript. though i'm using an old but specialized version of noscript for k-meleon (1.7.8) that mostly works with KM 1.6a4 though some parts of it just wont work with KM.

QuoteJohnHell When is going to be a stable version with 1.9 gecko engine? can you be more specific, JohnHell? there are several versions of the Gekco 1.9.x engine, darn it! (aka. 1.9.1, 1.9.2, 1.9.3)

Quoteguenter K-MeleonCCFME0.096.5pre (en-US) has its user agent strings in ./defaults/pref/kmeleon.js. The code is in section: // Privacy pref("kmeleon.privacy.useragent0.name", "K-Meleon"); pref("kmeleon.privacy.useragent0.string", ""); pref("kmeleon.privacy.useragent1.name", "MSIE 6.0"); pref("kmeleon.privacy.userage

Quoteslayer Quote4td8s of course, Flash Player 10 doesn't work under Win98/ME, slayer. It's not designed for it and requires minimum of Win2000. read this. I don't understand you, because I'm using flash 10 at the moment, just not the last one. I have the kernelEx installed. I think I should have said Flash 10.1, slayer. sorry for the confusion. Flash Player 10.1 doesn&#

Quotesiria Certainly doesnt sound like it was even remotely meant for real use yet yea. only a minor setback. guess I'll wait for a more stable alpha release of KM 1.7, perhaps when KM 1.6 reaches beta or RC time to ditch the current KM 1.7a and switch back to KM 1.6a4

Quotesnuz2 @4td8s If you think there is a stable foxit now, I'd try it again...I use 98SE with 95Explorer. No KernelX. I've downloaded and installed Foxit Reader 2.3 build 4015 on my relative's Win98se computer and it ran just fine w/out KernelEx. I know for sure the 3.x versions and greater of Foxit won't work under win9x oses but at least v2.3 does though the 2.x versi

QuoteFred For Windows 98/95 Flashplayer 9 seems to have been upgraded. The former version was 9r262 and the newer version is 9r277. Look for "Flash for other systems" and select "for other browsers" (Firefox etc). Flashplayer 9 (Linux) is also the choice for Linux distros with libc < then version 2.4., where Flash 10 does not work. Fred um, Flash Player 9.0.27

QuoteFred I prefer using the release candidate temporarily, version number 10.1.53.64 (Shockwave Flash 10.1 r53), it seems anyhow to be safer than the old version, which is confirmed to be vulnerable. First of all it seems to be advisable to use a different pdf reader. Fred this is no longer an RC release, Fred. Flash Player 10.1.53.64 is now a final release. Adobe security bulletin

Quotechinarobin yes, i checked and changed the menus.cfg as you said, and the display is working now. thank u. haha... that's good. however, the kmeleon.js file needed to be edited from the \defaults\pref\ folder instead of the I10n.js file, which doesn't seem to exist with the KM CCF ME versions. kmeleon.js contains the useragent strings as well as that menus.cfg file.

Quotesnuz2 I remove almost all of the Reader plugins to not only get rid of unneeded functionality but also way speed up the load time. I'm using W98 so I get that speedup when I display pdf, not at load time. Foxit doesnt' work consistently in 98. what version of foxit reader are you using under win98, snuz2?

Quotendebord QuoteJohnHell This is getting odd and odd... But use a RC version is not a good solution, I think I'll wait for a final before a new zero day bug is discovered in that RC. John, That is one way to go, but for myself, I went for the RC, but am using flashblock all the time and just skipping the impulse to run flash videos until this thing gets sorted out. ndebord &

After trying out K-Meleon 1.7.0a on my Win2000, XP and Vista computers, it keeps on crashing everytime I close the KM 1.7.0a browser window. anyone else who have tested KM 1.7 alpha experience this problem on their computers? looks like it's not stable enough to recommend for daily use.

Quotegman2083 Problem is fixed in 1.7 maybe so but current KM 1.7a crashes everytime after closing the KM 1.7a browser window. so do NOT use KM 1.7 alpha yet because it's not yet stable enough for everyday use.

xthost.info site is no longer infected so you can now repost any downloads there, Fred. still, the "one.xthost.info" site isn't accepting any downloads yet. try posting them on the "two.xthost.info" site instead
