1.6Alpha has several bugs yet,it's not even in beta state yet... You can read about it in the related threads... Guess in General and Development subforums... What I actually do is use KM154 as main browser, but if a problematic site like yours comes up (very rarely for me) then I simply open an additional browser window with 1.6a  Have 2 start icons in Taskbar. The commandline for

Gotta run sorry, just quick, you do know that KM is only for windows, not Linux...? ;-) There are people that have created special versions for Linux, but from what I understand quite some settings, macros etc. don't work right there... Your site shows normal font size for me in KM154 (and win98se with 256 RAM :cool, but half moved out of the right screen. Could probably cured with some u

Hi and welcome just some thoughts... Are you sure you have writing access to your profile folder? Add a bookmark to test and look if it stays saved... Actually I've never used the passwords manager at all, since I prefer to keep my logins stored in cookie-exceptions. Perhaps that would suffice for you too, no idea, but if you wanna try, click F2(=Edit>Preferences) > Privacy U

Well, as long as one of the 2 real bugs still exists, the one that does *not* send "follow Topic" mails, a working mail addy isn't really needed anyway

Cannot quite follow the details, but recently had a little prob that could be the same perhaps? If you click View > Toolbars and flip that up, works that okay for you...? By the way be very careful with "bookmarks" and backup that file often! It seems to have a real bug with folder changes, can delete the contents... What did you use so far - favorites?

Quoteguenterit must come via the one that I know & that is known to the Forum Please don't, every kid can type a fake sender addy in outlook express accounts, then it only depends from the provider if he cares and blocks it or not, and am sure there are tons of web services out there to send mail with any sender you wish...

Yes, the forum could direly need two upgrades for real bugs. But... QuoteJack$$Sorry you feel that this is a waste of your time. Not of HIS obviously, but that of the people who would be able to do this, and from what I understand we all have a higher priority that they rather spend more spare time updating the browser. QuoteJack$$I have been programming for 40 years and am on the MASM32

7?! LOL! Hmm... I think I've seen somewhere a js code that executes key presses, perhaps works for F8/code/F8, but no idea ;-)

Whow... Just noticed that in KM16a4 toggling the AdBlock (which I have on a privbar button) works instantly, without any reloading! Must admit I'm 'abusing' it for making some banners in other forums a bit smaller, so it really jumps at the eye. It takes 1-2 seconds, perhaps it automatically reloads from RAM, but the loading-icon never appears, no flicker. By the way my "si

Weil

WHOW. Who would have suspected something like this??? How I hate Vista/Win7, argh.... *DoingAQuickPrayerForMyTrustyWin98Box* Please post if another filemanager really helped... Now that the problem is finally identified you can easily change the name yourself in one of the macros. If you need both ;-) Unfortunately such double names will happen quite often with macros that have

The problem is just that NoScript despite its popularity isn't quite honest, some actually call it spyware, and occasionally it creates problems with other extensions or settings... There was another lengthy discussion about it here a few months ago...

QuoteJackPotsActually this is restoring the "session before last." Firefox, Opera, and others restore the session just before last close, whether gracefully or after a crash. SoerenB, will you further explain: "reload just one tab before exit/restart." Somehow I can't help feeling that there's still some basic misunderstanding... sounds like confusing the words &q

Peanuts.. I like your short and clear summary, if *I* would have tried to sum those 3 ways up, it would have gotten rather complicated and longwinded and I sure would have overlooked the one or other peanut too - then you (or one of the others) would have added them. No prob!

Perfect, Soeren! Just a little PS: The browser should be closed when editing that file in notepad, because at exit the browser automatically overwrites the prefs.js, so manual changes outside in notepad would be lost.

No Am not familiar with restarter. Are you perhaps re-opening a previous session? Is it perhaps set as homepage? (Check in Sessions > Options) Or do you mean when you are intentionally opening a past session, that there are too many tabs? The sessions have a minor little bug, only remembers the state of when the last tab was *loaded*

Ah now I remember: The "raw" buttons will always have the same size, as defined after the toolbar name. Just the size of the icon image on it can vary, but the only effect is that either it has more transparent area around it (if the icon is smaller), or the image is cropped (if the icon is bigger). So not very much use... Had found this last year when trying to get a narrow little ar

Ha ha QuoteInjectJS now return the result of the script (when applicable) How?? I mean, which macro syntax? Have tried some experimenting, but know nearly nothing about JS, so no luck this way ;-) For example for getting some variable returned for further use in a macro.

Version 1.5.4 is only 3 months old, that's not overly outdated in my eyes... But right below 1.5.4. there is also a link to the current development version, KM 1.6.0alpha4. That's not finished yet and meant for testing, although some people already use it as their main browser and are quite happy with it. Perhaps it's "almost" finished Here is more info about developmen

QuoteguenterQuoteDHIt just happened at random, no warning. I've lost all references I had kept to Assembly pages. You lost bookmarks, some settings and passwords...? By chance all, Right? Only those to Assembly pages he writes, the ones he had moved into the new folder, so the rest is okay. No crash mentioned either. Doesn't look very good... Really weird, in the year that I'm r

Yep Thanks Guenter, must admit I'm somehow way too tired today to type much :-/ Just those individual button sizes, that doesn't seem to work, even if it's written in the default cfg... All buttons inside the same toolbar must have the same size, but jsnj can tell for sure ;-)

Ah, cool! Good idea Just... why are only 2 included... IIRC it was exactly the missing 3rd one that cost me a very hard struggle in win98, because I kept thinking too that only 2 were needed. Until I finally ran Dependency Walker or how thats called and found to my surprise a 3rd one missing :O Downloaded it and suddenly starting worked  But I might confuse things there, not absolutely su

Not sure, but I'd really try with the "VS2005 redistributable" from the KM16 page. The link leads directly to Microsoft, which has this description: QuoteThe Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 SP1 Redistributable Package (x86) installs runtime components of Visual C++ Libraries required to run applications developed with Visual C++ on a computer that does not have Visual C++ 2005 install

Would be easy to add that button, but am in a hurry so just a quick tip: Right-click on a page and "Send page as Link", or right-click on a link and "Send Link URL"! There's a lot of additional functions on right-clicking things in KM, in a page, on a link, on selected text, on images, and there's even a special right-click menu on several buttons like "Home&q

I wonder if it may be those missing dll's that need to be copied separately in win98, but that error sounds somehow different... Guess it was the msvcm80.dll msvcp80.dll msvcr80.dll, at any rate from VS2005 link here: http://kmeleon.sourceforge.net/wiki/KMeleon16 Somehow I suspect it's some special XP security setting, perhaps due to folder location or perhaps XP insists in a setup
