Ah okay, thanks for the info :-) Hope I can remember it... *blush* But still not sure about that refresh tag, there could be different methods for autorefresh / autoreload, and that metatag may not have anything to do with javascript... So thanks to the infos in the other replies here, searched a bit around too, and voila: Here's another way, but not sure if it works, may require gecko

The page doesnt reload for me, but then I have flash and other objects blocked, so the rest of the page may not work either that way, no idea ;-) Just so dared to enable javascript for them, but didnt wanna go further Anyway, if the problem is just the reload interval, try the "Policies Manager": http://kmext.sourceforge.net/ext1.htm It's remotely similar to the IE security

On win98se the browser crashes if the gecko is updated to 1.8.1.22 or .23 on those pages: Link-1: http://forum.videohelp.com/topic291247.html Link-2: http://www.gwd-minden.de/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=1193 The crash occurs on this line in the style settings (identic in both pages): /* The largest text used in the index page title and toptic title etc. */ .maintitle { font-weight: bold;

Ha, the videohelp-page contains the exactly same line and typos!! (In the videohelp.css file) Would you believe it, that page works also fine if only deleted that typo. But there's a problem now, is this is in countless phpbb2-stylesheets, it must be spread over countless forums *sigh*

Did some more experimenting... Saved the two pages to disk (with "default" gecko before update), then found that the minden page seems fairly simple, contains nothing fancy, no scripts etc., only gifs. So opened the page in notepad2 and deleted "suspicious" lines, but didnt help. Then deleted the whole CSS-block, and it worked again. Then deleted only single parts of it, an

It would be helpful to have a user stylesheet that doesn't need to restart the whole browser for each little change. The adblock-stylesheet works this way, so it can't be very difficult ;-) JamesD's new KM-tricks page is the perfect test page (currently), build with frames All frames are external, except perhaps the logo: http://kmhdisys.t35.com There temporary stylesheets fr

Yep, that mozillazine is a real jewel to find all sorts of things, often look there too But for marking links those settings only work as long as the page author hasn't defined anything himself, so those colors aren't forced, but that's what someone probably wishes if defining a color himself. Or so I suppose... Am surprised that there is no setting yet in the preferences, al

QuoteBrogan Then i would have the search bar behave so that it always performs a search without ever trying to take me directly to a website if i am sure that i just want to see the search results But you can do that from the URL-bar too, just click the search-button (globe-icon) instead of the "goto"-button. For future KM-versions it would be far more intuitive IMO to include that

Okay thanks! Tried it again: System restarted, KM 153 downloaded and unzipped today, profile inside, only added hotlist: - Both pages OKAY. KM 153 see above, Gecko updated to 18122: Yet worse than 18123. PRIVACY everything allowed: - videohelp crashes on googlead, page all white yet - minden too, all white yet PRIVACY everything blocked and cache emptied: - videohelp crashe

Certainly no difference between over here and there in the shops, but for me screensavers are just the easiest way to block access (on my 98se notebook) ;-)

:cool: Look here: http://kmeleonbrowser.org/forum/read.php?4,96464 So far the only compromise seems to add certain image domains to the black/whitelist (exceptions), same way as cookies. For finer tuning use the user-stylesheet or adblock-stylesheet (which has already tons of examples, and needs no restart after changes, and can be toggled on-off, but not sure if it doesnt download first and

win98se (with updates) After first trying with disabling macros and other stuff, I finally gave up and took the "fresh install" version where I had recently tried the gecko update. With or without the SVG update it crashed. Another older but unused "fresh install" version with gecko-21 had no probs. By the way the videohelp page crashes only after loading the left side and

A week or two ago I came across a link that crashed the browser. Error message and on OK the browser closes itself. I saved the bookmark and moved on. But now today the same thing happened on another site! So this is really becoming weird, I'm not used to crashes any more since the 1.5.x versions. After much testing I now suspect strongly it has to do with the gecko update to 1.8.1.23... Pe

Just tested that ad-blocking thing It looks like those 3 variations have all the same effect, and it also shouldn't matter whether they are inserted in adblocking-css or usercontent-css: div { display: none !important; } div#t35ad {display: none ! important;} #t35ad {display: none ! important;} I'm delighted to find this actually works, and for the Adblock-sheet even without

Okay, in order to not clutter too much the other thread with off-topic stuff, now an own thread for this ;-) From here: http://kmeleonbrowser.org/forum/read.php?1,97936 Quotesiria Sorry off-topic, just curious: Why do still some people use old versions, I suppose there's a reason for it, but can't guess? With javascript ON and flash OFF only the entry page stops on my 98se, then a popup says that there's un responsive javascript, asking whether to stop or continue. I said stop, and shortly after the page responded again, although slow. Haven't dared to try with flash yet ;-) The easiest way to turn ON/OFF all sorts of stuff by simply clicking buttons on a toolbar is enabling the Priv

That favicon bug is too weird. Just wish I knew how my 98se system cured itself at some point, even if it was perhaps just an accidental workaround (changing some unfortunate combination?), since I use the same KM and can't remember having ever done anything with an icon cache. Certainly have done some Win-Updates, and perhaps updated the graphics driver, but don't remember exactly. Bu

Basically it's a great idea, but I admire your limitless confidence in people ;-) There are way too many bad guys out there, and each can delete everything with one click. Or worse yet, load up some nonsense, really offensive or dangerous stuff, and perhaps no one of the 'good' guys would even notice in a long time *sigh*

Well, so does it go up one level or does it go back in history??? Either I don't get it or you're contradicting yourself *riddling* The latter is default in just about all browsers I guess, and makes a lot of sense. At any rate, if you want to change the actions of shortcut buttons, look for a file named accelerators, that's how this is called in KM...

Javascript und Java sind zwei ganz verschiedene Paar Stiefel. Click mal auf Extras/Datenschutz, da kann mal alles mögliche aus/einschalten. While I'm at it... *whistle* Stumbled about the DOM supercookies (not flash sort, see above), and it looks like those are NOT disabled when "normal" cookies are blocked, as they normally should? (e.g. in privbar) There is a setting that was introduced in Firefox2: dom.storage.enabled (true, false) It is on by default and doesn't seem to follow when "normal" co
