Hi Todd ... I am the one who started the thread. I do like your site and have never thought anything "sinister" was going on at your site. It's a good site for sure, just a little tougher than most sites I have been at to join and log in. As a Windows 98SE user still, I run into an occasional other site that flashes an OS or Browser warning. I realize this is a problem still using

Sorry ... couldn't get back on the internet till now ... siria ... I am using Proxomitron and the latest sidki filter set ... he updated his last filter set to "fool" web sites into thinking a person has Windows 7 installed with IE 8 I think. Anyway when I disable Proxomitron with KM v1.5.4, I get only one warning ... that I am using Windows 98 ... "Your operating syste

This web site gives me a real problem with trying to log in ... They will drive you crazy with "checking" out your OS and Browser. I really don't need this site for anything except lottery information but the information on "warnings" is really something. They must have all the latest software programs to check a person's computer in 2011. I am using both KM v1.5.4 a

I am using KM v1.5.4 and v1.6 Beta 2 for now. Yes, Irfan still works with all Windows. ... from the website: IrfanView is a very fast, small, compact and innovative FREEWARE (for non-commercial use) graphic viewer for Windows 9x, ME, NT, 2000, XP, 2003 , 2008, Vista, Windows 7. I was searching online for some color generators ... all very interesting. Learned some new stuff today. I think I

guenter ... hey thanks for your help. I didn't know I could just type "about:config" into the URL field ... that's easy. Yes, I figured out how to also get in through the Edit > Configuration tab. Vasa1 mentioned in his post about Color Cop ... I went and got that program, wasn't sure if it would work with 98SE but it seems to. I was interested in the Hexadecimal color

vasa1 ... read your post on changing the KM background color ... You posted "The only thing I didn't do was use the colour you like. On my screen, it shows up nearly the same as white, at least that's what ColorCop shows me." I'd like to know what color you chose to use ... what are the letters ... like to try it. I also don't like all the "white" and

siria (or anyone) ... I have a question on this step to change colors ... in your post you say: "Goto "about:config" page, and type "background" into the filter line. That'll bring up a pref named "browser.display.background_color". Right-click on it and input any color you like." Where do I find the "about:config" page? Under the Edi

disrupted ... thanks for the reply. I was able to use WinRAR and view the current path in FlashVideo Saver but I can't figure out how to change or delete that path information and replace it with your path information. I can see this: flasaver{ $_OpenDir_Page=getpref(STRING,"kmeleon.download.saveDir"); exec($_tool_path."\\flasaver\\flasaver.exe \"".$_OpenDir_Pag

ndebord, I hear you ... no Androids, Droids for me either. Sounds like you really had (have) a nice T-Mobile plan and setup. That Cell Phone group was mostly Verizon people at first then Sprint, ATT and others came along. I still really like my phone, it's just a phone with a little extra feature, being able to get online. I can do small downloads but I go to McDonalds or the library for any

Well, I have the ability to connect to the internet (at home or anyplace) through my cell phone with my notebooks ... been doing that since 2004 ... used to have a faster connection and the slow one available from Verizon, there were no separate voice/data plans back then in 2004 ... but the carriers soon (2005) separated the two to get more money from everybody. In 2004 Verizon sold certain cell

When I use FlashVideo Saver to save a video file, it seems to pick it's own folder to put the video in ... how do I change the path to a Video file folder that I have set up. Right now it just picks a folder and then I have to transfer the video to the Video folder. I can't seem to find a way to make the Video folder the permanent download folder for FlashVideo Saver. Thanks ...

snuz2 ... thanks for taking the time to explain about RAMDisk and the KM settings. Yes, I am finding no real difference in speed using RAMDisk over the Cache folder in K-Meleon. I am using the KM Cache folder and your settings, I will try the "Once per Session" setting and everything else you suggested. I set my disk cache to 60 MB, so I will run all this for a week or so and see how i

I've been using the RAMDisk9x with K-Meleon for several hours and I seem to notice that web pages appear to be opening not as fast as when I was using the Cache folder in KM/Profiles. I changed the cache path back to the KM folder, instead of the RAMDisk9x folder and the web pages seem to be loading a little faster. Can anyone else verify this ... that the RAMDisk drive is slower than actual

ndebord ... thanks for replying. The default setting on RAMDisk9x was 10 MB ... I thought I should increase that amount and decided on 50 MB. I can always change it to a lower amount, I was going to go with 40 MB, decided on 50 MB. I'm going to see if I get any other replies from some RAMDisk9x users to see what settings they are using.

First ... I had never heard of RAMDisk9x/ME or Gavotte Ramdisk until these programs were mentioned a month or so ago in some postings. I found and downloaded both programs but since I use Win 98SE, only RAMDisk9x/ME works on my machine. It installs and seems to work just fine. I just have some questions on what settings others might be using. In RAMDisk9x I chose to set the Drive letter to "

Yes siria, I noticed that also at the KernelEx forum ... that will never happen to me again. Good you posted that info ... I will post what the KernelEx moderator told me to do last September to fix the problem. Also, if someone has a "Junk Cleaning" program installed, you may have to put the "kernel32.bak" file on a "protect" or "do not delete" list. That

Good news ..... KernelEx v4.5 Final released ... By Xeno, December 30, 2010 1:49 am The wait is finally over. KernelEx 4.5 has now gone final, which means this is the new stable release. Because of the stability fixes it is a recommended update for 4.5 beta and RC users. Check out our new Wiki. The wiki, and in particular its compatibility database requires your help to grow into so

4td8s ... yes, I was aware of the newer Flash v9.0.289.0 and I did update IE 6 with it ... I downloaded both versions ... (IE and non IE). I keep IE 6 on my computers but never use it anymore, unless I need it for a particular web site. I was just waiting to see if the newer version will be "patched" for K-Meleon. If a newer patched version doesn't turn up one day then I will insta

desga2 ... just thought I'd post on using the new KM 1.6 Beta 2 version with Windows 98SE ... so far everything working good with latest version of KernelEx installed. Using Flash Player v9.0.277.0 (9x), seem to have problems with Flash Player v10.0.45.2 (9x) and so I don't use it but that version didn't work with any KM version for me. Haven't used the new Beta 2 version all

Just thought it would be interesting to see how many people out there are using the new K-Meleon 1.6 Beta with Win98SE. Thought it might be nice for Win98SE users to be aware of other Win98SE users to maybe get help for a problem they might be having on their computer. Not everyone will have Win98SE set up exactly the same ... for instance, in my case, I use WMP 6.4 and use a separate stand alone

off topic - Thanks guenter and slayer for the Win98SE info. I decided to start a Win98SE poll or a new topic to see how many people are using K-Meleon and Win98SE ... would be nice to know about other Win98SE users out there, then people could maybe be of assistance when someone might have a problem. Everybody (using Win98SE) would know of others using Win98SE and could ask questions about a situ

siria ... using Win98SE, I am not having the problem you are having. Also, MDGx (MSFN forum) just released (Nov 23) a huge update for Win 98SE. I just found it a short time ago. I am still deciding whether to try it ... some things I don't want but some other stuff I do ... I'd like your opinion on this new update, it's a monster but lots of new updates all in one download. ... wou

siria ... I also saw something like that at my Yahoo account a couple of times. I said "Remind me Later" ... I think it was in case a person forgets their Yahoo password then it could be sent to another e-mail address. I wasn't interested so I am not 100% sure if this is what you were also seeing. I guess a Yahoo security thing.

Jody .... just logged into Gmail and I'm not seeing what you are seeing. I use both KM 1.5.4 and the new 1.6 Beta on my notebook and when I log in I go right into my e-mail. Might be a KM setting or something at Gmail ... maybe someone else can be of more help. Just thought I'd let you know that all is OK from my side.

siria ... just responding to your post ... since we both use Win 98SE ... I use Favorites and have had no problems with the new KM Beta version. I used IE6 for so many years and just use the Klassic skin with the Favorites tab. Not suggesting you change from Bookmarks to Favorites ... just letting you know I have had no problems using Favorites with the new version.
