@toaster, No, I do not think it distracts, when ppl here post updated, altered browsers for use. IMHO You need to know the browser to test - It can be a little frustrating if You do not. & thx for info about down-under providers. Why - AFAIK K-Meleon has more different possibilities to create profiles than Firefox. So it must write more precise data than Firefox. You have to change paths in registry.dat / creating a new profile like You did is the easiest way to do that - and inside profile You must change the paths in prefs.js and names for *.s and *.w. AFAIK all Gecko based browsers (for windows = k-meleon, seamonkey,firefox and some not available in English e.g. Bagel ) support it because it comes with the files that are provided by Mozilla foundation. My K-Meleon wrote that the above must be in the new manifest file for the en-US version. There can be compatible plugins if the plugins designer/creator made a compatible one. Exampels: Console2, Adblockplus, NewsFox, Aggreg8, mtypes, Live HTP headers, .... With many other plugins K-Meleon does not have the needed XUL infrastructure - or the plugin creator just did not care to make a plugin that is compatible for other Gecko browsers.
