java 6.0 update 22 seems pretty safe to me with latest KM 1.6 alpha or pre-beta. I'll try to test java 6u22 with KM 1.54 on another computer and see what happens. QuoteMatt K-Meleon 1.6 both alphas - JRE 6 Update 21 doesn't work for me; npjpi160_21.dll crashes K-M 1.7 . java.com test page Matt, do NOT link directly to the Java.com test page because it may not work as expected. COOL! Nice to hear that cleartype can be used under Win98 or WinME with RP9 installed. Too bad Tihiy is no longer working on the Win2000 version of the Revolutions Pack. I would have loved to see him attempt to implement Cleartype support on his Win2000 Revolutions Pack. There is an MS app called Microsoft Reader that uses Cleartype support. Download and install it under a Win98/ME compu

Quotecaktus My only concern is sensitive information such as usernames, passwords and financial transactions. It that the Temp folders save only non-SSL pages and URL’s, which I do not mind. Do the Temp folders in contain any usernames, passwords and financial transaction data? I hope not. If Temp folders have a lot of junk files on there, then it would be best to delete them as soo

Quotesiria Hi, and sorry, don't know much about this, just wondering: Which KM version are you using? Guess KM1.6alpha has some issue with URL bar... Or perhaps this is only happening with protected sites - does it work with 'normal' sites? it has nothing to do with the url bar. it has everything to do with "autocompleting" forms on web pages. as SoerenB said, it&

Quotesiria I may install msi some day, when really needed. But so far haven't come across a software yet that I absolutely wanted but was *only* available as msi, not as exe, unzippable exe, nor as real zip or portable version, and without a similar software as alternative. Sorry but I hate installers, they are spreading their files and registry stuff all over the place, and not all of it is

permanent solution for this problem is to use third party download managers and a tcp/ip optimizer tool, especially if you use old Windows OSes like w98se/wme/w2k/wxp.

Quotesnuz2 Got it working (pretty much) on KX rc4. Problem seems to be KX is not compatible with W95 Explorer which I use. I switched to W98 Explorer and it runs. I totally hate the w95 explorer UI. several programs get broken with it. stick with the Win98 explorer UI, unless your old computer can't properly handle it. I no longer have issues with the 98 explorer user interface.

do you use Sun Java software with K-meleon under win98se, siria? its setup program installs MSI before installing sun java. not installing MSI will be the dumbest and most stupid mistake you'll ever make. I certainly have several apps that use MSI on old dual-boot Win98se and WinME computers. And I can easily do "repair" installations of these apps with MSI if they have missi

another good reason to double check carefully. I CAN compose messages in Yahoo Mail Classic in K-meleon, using the Firefox user agent string. I'm not switching to the new Yahoo Mail user interface - too resource heavy for my old computers.

Quotesiria Wait... *shock* Just stumbled accidentally about this: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?FamilyID=CEBBACD8-C094-4255-B702-DE3BB768148F&pf=true Sounds like an msi-installer for Win9X, an update by Microsoft themselves in 2001?? Okay, I'll keep this in favorites but not use yet unless really needed some day  BUT the actual MSI 2.0 installer download

not ok to talk about KM 1.7 on a KM 1.6a4 thread, SoerenB. good that you moved your discussion on KM 1.7 to another thread. to the makers of K-meleon 1.6: how close are you guys producing the first beta version of KM 1.6? almost 4 months now since KM 1.6a4 was released; currently Firefox 4 is at its 4th beta and Seamonkey 2.1 is at its 3rd alpha and sometime in October beta 1 of Seamonkey 2.

QuoteMatt QuoteCritical vulnerabilities have been identified in Adobe Flash Player version 10.1.53.64 and earlier. These vulnerabilities could cause the application to crash and could potentially allow an attacker to take control of the affected system. The new version is 10.1.82.76. I prefer not do download the exe and wait until disrupted puts patched NPSWF32.dll on kmext ;-) And version 9.
