I'm not sure what the problem is here. Whenever I try to type in my Facebook status update window, the cursor jumps downpage to highlight a letter that is the first letter I typed. Is this a search feature or something that I can turn off?
No clue about Facebook, that search feature normally doesn't jump out of input fields, but anyway, you can toggle it here:
Edit > Page Search
Go to EDIT - PAGE SEARCH and un-check 'Find as you type'.
I was getting the same problem in an old version of htmlarea that I use on my education site. I will turn of find as you type.
The lack of in page search associated with the web sear field becomes more of an issue.
