On K-Meleon I can't see the live video transmision, which I do see on my IE or Maxthon. E.g. on this site: http://www.hestia.pl/sigeh/servlet/www.LiveVideo . I have the same plugins intalled. Can this be helped?

You can try using the registry edit to the shiminclusionlist:

REGEDIT4

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\MediaPlayer\ShimInclusionList]
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\MediaPlayer\ShimInclusionList\K-Meleon.exe]

Looks like an active x problem. It must be enabled to see the contents of the page.

But I suposse you already knew that.

In the middle there should be a picture, a live video transmision from a web camera overlooking the see coast. The other things are displayed ok, but not the camera picture.

Tomansz, You need Macromedia Flash player for Mozilla/Netscape.

Reason: Maxton Shell and IE do not use the same plugin model since IE 5.5 2.nd service pack.

The easiest way to get Flash working: install a Netscpae 4.8 or 7.2 & copy
the plugins directory to k-meleon plugin directory.

Reason: Macromedia installer has a bug and does not always recognize that it must and does support k-meleon :-(

Else to try with IE plugins You need activeX support dll, xpt ... (activeX.js in defaults folder?) get needed files at:

http://www.iol.ie/~locka/mozilla/plugin.htm

Some k-meleon version have adapter plugin out of the box but deactivated / Here You must activate it. ( no k-m that i know has activated support!)
But most k-meleon versions do not have activeX support by default. / Here You must install it.

Depending on the k-meleon version You use the ones for Mozilla 1.7 for 0.9 versions

( You might be using the Kaszëbi or Polski translations which exist for 0.9 /1.7.xGRE
btw. the menues, macros and toolbars.cfg of the2 will AFAIK also work on 1.0-1.02
and will certainly work on the existing but rarely used 0.9 for 1.8.x GRE )

or those for Firefox 1.5 for aLL k-meleon versions that use 1.8x GRE (1.x...).

Procedure:

1.) downloaded and unpack the XPI
( xpi is a zip archive that includes install info that k-m does not handle )
2.)use the structure & copy the files into same position in k-meleon folders.
3.)delete in components folder: compreg.dat and xpi.dat.

Reason: k-meleon makes the new one that registered the nsIMozAxPlugin.xpt that You copied there.

greetings

Thanks for your help, unfortunately it's all a bit too complicated for me ;-) . I've tried the 1st option, i.e. copying the plugins from Netscape 4.8 but it did't work. Anyway, I'll have something to do when I have more time.
Cheers!
