It's not XP, but K-Melon 76 Pro happens to work very well in Windows 2000 with Extended Core. I'm using it to type this post, in fact.

If I remember right, JohnH can only run KM75.0 on his Win2000 - or confusing something now?

There seems to be a completely new thread started by Dibya about three hours ago over at the MFSN WinXP thread. It's simply called:
Extended Kernel for XP (ExtendedXP)
http://www.msfn.org/board/forum/34-windows-xp/
Only a few posts for now ... the one project involved really has my interest, if I understand it correctly and that is having USB 3.0 work with WinXP.
Just a 'heads up' for people here using XP and maybe Win2000.

guenter,
I have not kept up with the POS updates for WinXP. There is a thread there for that ... currently at 95 pages:
POSReady 2009 updates ported to Windows XP SP3 ENU
http://www.msfn.org/board/forum/34-windows-xp/
I read the posts, I think there may be work on a 'update rollup' package by heinoganda. I have seen it mentioned but not much else at this time.
I did decide to add the POS hack in March to my XP setup but only for one POS update. It was just an idea of only updating IE8. MS always has the POS IE8 cumulative update every month, I hadn't updated IE8 since the last regular XP updates in April 2014.
I really don't use IE8 anymore but I thought it wouldn't hurt just to apply that one POS update. It all went OK and the IE8 update is provided in the thread. In the last few months ... people seem to be having trouble getting the POS updates from MS.
A member has been supplying the direct links to the updates. These are the POS updates for May 2017 ... this is on Page 89 ... but must you must install Windows Installer 4.5 first and then the POS hack, from what I read or before you get any POS updates.
From heinoganda - Posted March 18
Before you install POSReady Updates, check MSI 4.5 (KB942288-v3) is installed, otherwise install first!
Download Windows Installer 4.5 Redistributable or direct WindowsXP-KB942288-v3-x86.exe (multilanguage)

The main problem lately is that the updates are taking so long to download ... maybe 12 hours or more for some people. I don't want to bother with all that. My XP setup is working just fine but I didn't think it would hurt to update IE8 for an experiment. Here are the POS updates for May ...

Just a heads up over at the MSFN Win XP forum. Today one of the supervisors, dencorso started a new separate thread for Dibya's ExtendedXP program. He moved the other posts from the last week into this new thread. This project may pan out or not.

Browsers requiring Dibya's ExtendedXP to (sort of) Work with WinXP

Dibya: Now you have a thread for browsers on ExtendedXP.
Do not - I repeat - do not hijack the other thread which is exclusively for browsers still working on *n*o*r*m*a*l* XP SP3 (with the POSReady trick allowed, of course). Thanks in advance for your understanding and compliance.

So it should be easier to follow this project in the future.
