Got it! This is being typed in K-MeleonCCF 0.020 PR1 Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8a5) Gecko/20041123 K-Meleon/0.9.
It looks very pretty in the new Matias skin. And of course about:config works just fine.
I'm glad it's another 1.8a5 build, Hao. You certainly give us excellent work. THANK YOU, very much indeed.

Forgot to mention this:
* Chrome Optimization
Now, this version of K-MeleonCCF is the fastest.
And I just did this. So Carson you better download it again. Sorry.

¡Wow!, nice build ... seams to be faster than oficial build, and looks nice with my skin ;-D
Good job.
I have a doubt ... is there any posibility to make optimized builds of Kmeleon for an specific computer like in Firefox? or is there no noticiable speed increment?
(I have an Athlon XP 2600+ Barton)
Greetings.

Is the transparent effect of the back, stop, forward button intended?

After those optimizations, I made several test of this version together with some other version I made before. And the result is as follows:
K-MeleonCCF 0.010 PR1 is about 10-15 % faster than my 0.019a and 0.019a2

Okay; no problem, 'cuz I can cut and paste settings from the other one.
-- A Question: Is this one now 1.8a6? What do we call it, that separates it from the earlier 0.020 pr1? (Or is there a name difference?)
Thanks again. :-)

this one is still 1.8a5. But I modify most of the chromes to make it faster. This one will still be 0.020 PR1. I have already updated this one on my server.

It's beautiful. I really like that blue K-Meleon picture. Really nice!
-- Plus, it's a very informative blog. It's functional and good-looking, too.
So you're a Cancerian, huh? Me too. Only I was born in the Year of the Dog. 1946, July 20. :-)

MatÃas,
The skin is awesome, but I'm more for the faded gray look on disabled buttons.

Here is a very small detail:
I like the new menu for Bookmarks, which includes bookmark settings. There is still one tweak which is not included there, and that is Enable/Disable Bookmarks Chevron. If that could be reached via the same menu, it would be very convenient.
(But I never know whether these things are easy or difficult!)
Thanks.

Hey, Carson:
Chevron is enabled as default. If you want to enable/disable bookmarks toolbar, you can choose from view->toolbars->Bookmarks. So I don't think it needs to be changed.
Still thank you for your kind advice.

Hao, It would still be nice to be able to double-click on the layer bar (correct term?) to open a new layer, but I added instructions to the context menu that adds a "new layer" option. For those interested, somewhere above "Documentpopup" on menu.cfg, add the following (this adds "new layer" option and "close layer" option to context menu):
NewLayer{
layers(Open, New Layer)
}
CloseLayerW{
layers(Close, Close Layer)
}
Then, within DocumentPopup, DocumentImagePopup, FrameDocumentPopup & FrameDocumentImagePopup, add the following:
!NewLayer
!CloseLayerW
I added these above !Nav, but they can be added anywhere, I think. Anyway, Hao, thanks for your contributions.

Potter:
Yeah, the double click bug still exists in my version. However, you can use shortcuts like Ctrl_N or Ctrl_T to create a new layer or press the new layer toolbar icon to acheive this.

Potter, I'll be trying your idea; thanks.
-- Because I play around with the placement of icons on my 2-row system, I like to have just a 2-icon toolbar for Layers, which I place left of my Bookmarks on the Toolbar.
Hmmm....what happened to QuickNote? You had finally won me over, Hao, but I don't see it in this version.

Carson,
I didn't put the quicknote icon in the new theme's toolbar since it is a different size. And I forgot to put the quicknote in any the menus. But you can use the CTRL_M to access it by :
1) Press Ctrl + M to open the macro input dialog
2) input "quicknote" and it will open quicknote
Or you can just make a menu item of quicknote from menus.cfg. It is pretty easy.
And you also choose the Pheonix theme which is also included in my version. It has the quicknote icon as before.
Actually , it is my fault and I will correct it in my next version.

To Hao:
I think I found a major bug which seems to have been already in
th 18-5 version. The History window is not found. If you disable
the clear history in the Privacy plugin, you will get the window after
restart, with the url's of the old session, but the new ones are
saved to the window only when you close the browser again.
With clear history on, you get no history window at all.
I don.t know if that happens only on my computer.
Hope it can be fixed without trouble.
Fred

I have an AMD 1300 with Windows XP and 256Mb ram. Could be
there's something wrong with my system, although I don't understand
why my problem is only with the builds based on 18.5., while
all the others work fine for me. Could be a missing windows file.
Fred.
