K-Meleon is so fast it should be made illegal...
In fact, it probably is on most of the world's highways, except for Germany.
Hell, went to open an html help file, and it popped right into my face.
Scared the @!#$ out of me...

Ha smiling smiley
tbh it was the first thing I noticed (the speed) - it took me by surprise.

I understand it's the gecko (mozilla) rendering engine, the thing that processes the html.

I'm an ex-msie user and I find it (k-meleon) a pleasure to use, no lie smiling smiley I'd never go back to msie, I've got my dad and a friends dad using k-meleon!

Get the big IE buttons and tell them it is IE.

I believe you can fool someone rather non-expert in the computer world into thinking he is using IE by using the customizability of KM. I've thought about experimenting this on someone, but I haven't tried. Maybe soon. ;-)

Aren't bookmarks just Netscape's version of favourites--identical no?

That's an interesting idea you have here...
But is it possible to change the program's title in the top of the window?
Maybe not, or else not without some serious reprogramming me thinks.
I guess that would be one of the major issues, hm?

Actually, that probably can be hacked with a resource editor. Do you think they would actually notice? They are more likely to notice the lizard.

Maybe someone can work up a spinning E AVI.

Naaahhhhhhh, no way you could make K-m as ugly as Infernal Exterminator, or in any believable way mimic its sucky supercilious attitude.
I have kidnapped my sister's computer (with very good intentions, it's been ill), and it is going back home with guess-what installed smiling smiley She's been using Insidious Exploiter and lots of other totally out-of-control Microsnot stuff. It has driven her poor lil comper nuts.
My lizzerd isn't breaking any speed limits (unless I use the loader). Gets there fast enough tho.

I have tried imitating IE with KM. :-)
The "Title (K-Meleon)" text can be changed to "Title (Microsoft Internet Explorer)" using a resource editor. Of course, this is slightly different from IE's "Title - Microsoft Internet Explorer". The icon can be changed, the toolbars edited, the throbber removed (until someone make an IE throbber). For the menu, well, that's the most difficult part (as some functions are not available in KM). I'm still working on it. By the way, the "URL:" cannot be changed to "Address:". I'm going to try using a hex editor.

XVI32 can change "URL ". I use it to get rid of any word next to the address bar. But the main problem with IE imitation would be with menus and favorites, and the spinning throbber.
