Chinese and other languages...

Hi,

when opening wikipedia or other sites using several languages Iam always asked whether I want to install chinese support. But currently I am not in the mood to improve my chinese and I do not want to install it. I could not find a button called 'Don't annoy me constantly', so is there any way to remove this question permanently?

Best regards

As Dorian said in this thread ...

You must created a new entry in about:config.

Go to Edit -> Configuration -> Browser Configuration (or type about:config in URL bar)

Right click in preference list, and select New -> Boolean.
Named it: font.askWhenNeeded
And set value to: false

P.D.; I added this to FAQ.

@ kko; I think that is a good idea have an option to change this in K-M 1.5, in new preference panel: Page Display -> Fonts
Can you add it?

smiling smiley - Is it needed often enough to warrant inclusion into kko's panel?

We could easy add the font.askWhenNeeded to *.js in next GRE update so that it can be toggled from about:config.

p.s. for me a candidate for inclusion into national issues is alain's Mozilla spell checker extension and the suitable national (es-ES or de-DE or...) dictionary.

@guenter,

I'm not the maker of the extension, I just have made macros and setup package.

It's mark303 who have made it work with K-Meleon by adding a kplugin.

But I agree, I think the spellcheck ought to be in the official build with en-US dictionnary.

The other dictionaries (fr, de, es, cn) have to be included in their own locale build.

Curiously, I have heard talking or asking about other language builds (pt or br), and no news since a long time.

Isn't there any volunteers to work on locale builds, and to make K-Meleon universal?

You need to do what they said but I also want to point that if you install this font
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=W277L9TX k-meleon automatically detects the font and use when needed for every page without western characters.
