Since K-M builds upon Seamonkey, here is the page where you can read about the new 2.0 that was released today: http://www.seamonkey-project.org/releases/seamonkey2.0a1/

Means probably that a future "K-Meleon 1.6" will not be for old OSes since the linked page wrote:

See Hao's youngest CCF versions that are only for XP or newer.

p.s. I wonder whether GTK builds will be possible? Since the link also

And that GTK version or better seems to exist for older WindOS also. This makes me wonder if it is possible to use GTK 2.10 for the Windows GRE that K-Meleon needs.

If possible, It would create additional overhead for legacy windows - but even that is better than no support.

Interesting....
..and here I had just come here today to see if there was any mention of any test builds of KM being made using code from FF3, or at least the new javascript engine (which is insanely fast).

I wonder if it would be possible to take the javascript engine files from an install of ff3 or sm2 & drop them into an installation of KM? Probably not (things are never that simple), but it would be worth trying if I knew which were the relevant files.

http://kmeleonbrowser.org/forum/read.php?1,83269 Post 5 = about JS speeds.

Look into the old receipes for GRE updates.
BTW. You need a K-Meleon that is build fore GRE 1.9.

For FF3 You use all files. Xull.dll contains the dll from components.

For SM with that script engine - You do an update: components and all files in root. IF You get a modular build else again best all files.

p.s. seems to become a FAQ
