I am back to 1.5.2 version again...
The 1.5.3`s stales would drive me up the walls...Even the 1.5.2 stalls and freezes but not as much as the 1.5.3

Well, 1.1.x working with this GRE.
I thought that chrome.dll and chrome.xpt would be updated this time too, anyway, works, at the moment. Various test, flash, java, AJAX. Open and closes with crashes. Downloads, ok.

chrome.dll and chrome.xpt files are identical since 1.1.5 to 1.5.3 (Official releases) not need updated.

Why not? I didn't try it, but I want you try it. My updater must work in all systems; Linux (emulated with Wine), Win9x, WinNT/2000, WinXP, Vista and Win7(?).

I saw in the screenshots that there are 2 options to update:
* update gecko
* update to K-Meleon 1.5.3 with last gecko engine.
Which one do I choose? What are the differences between the two.
BTW: KM is the only gecko based browser I have.

update version of K-Meleon to 1.5.3 and gecko
GRE updates of the 1.8... try to be OS version independent.
Does this work on KMLite and K-Ninja?
Does it matter if I have used a previous desga2 updater on the same browser?
The update type "Only Gecko" could work (I didn't test it but the system is identical to before update that work in KMLite)
Remember:
KMLite = K-Meleon 1.5.x
K-Ninja = K-Meleon 1.1.x
About options compatible with it:
Backup => must work
Update Seamonkey UA string => must work
K-Meleon Quick Guide => must work (only for KMLite)
No problem if you have used a previous updated on the same browser.

Yes, it does update KMLite. I updated KMLite 1.1.2 previously updated with desga2's Gecko 1.8.1.21 to 1.8.1.22

OK, I've chosen 'update gecko', everything fine. I'm using WIN98se.

or does it automatically select the correct setting?
KMLite isn't autodetected, you must select the correct from above.

I am with Gorilla. I do not have the stalls and freezes but I am constantly
having trouble with comctl32.dll on 1.5.3
