Last night my system locked up and upon reboot and loading Kmeleon, I see that all my bookmarks have dissappeared and there is no longer a bookmark Icon or menu
item for bookmarks. Additionally all cookies and settings are gone and the
program appears to be a fresh install....

WHERE ARE MY BOOKMARKS and where did the bookmark icon and functionality GO?

Sometimes when you have a lockup the next time KM starts it makes a new profile. It did not erase your old. Use EDIT - CONFIGURATION - PROFILE DIRECTORY to find your current (new) profile. Then close KM and look in the same area for the earlier profile. It will have a name like "q6psu8b0.default" where the q6psu8b0 part is a random name. You can copy bookmarks and cookies from the old profile to the new one. They are "bookmarks.html" and "cookies.txt".

The same files exist in the new profile - overwrite them with the ones You want.

Alternative: You can edit new Profiles.ini to use old profile name
