I am not a writer and not pretending to be one. I will upgrade this one some more, though.

My wife thinks sci-fi is something that teenage boys bury their noses in to escape the fact that they are unattractive to girls.

I am making another one - that one is kinda sad. I wrote a couple of thousand words but I could not end it in time for today so I will publish it next week.
Then I will "retire".

Mhf, were you so shocked you can't make any comment or you haven't read it at all?

Hi panzer - sorry I didn't get back to you earlier !
I was very impressed with your latest story : strong characters, rich dialogs and very imaginative - and you have a wide-ranging vocabulary which makes for pleasant reading.
No I wasn't shocked, it would take a lot more to shock me.
Thanks again and keep it up !
Martin.

Mhf, the long one is not finished yet. Here are 2X2 minutes stories:

Enjoy (if you can)
Beware: They were written in less than 2 hours so the quality is not so high

Eight rules from Kurt Vonnegut for writing a short story (if you ever wanted to try to write one yourself):
1. Use the time of a total stranger in such a way that he or she will not feel the time was wasted.
2. Give the reader at least one character he or she can root for.
3. Every character should want something, even if it is only a glass of water.
4. Every sentence must do one of two things-reveal character or advance the action.
5. Start as close to the end as possible.
6. Be a Sadist. No matter how sweet and innocent your leading characters, make awful things happen to them-in order that the reader may see what they are made of.
7. Write to please just one person. If you open a window and make love to the world, so to speak, your story will get pneumonia.
8. Give your readers as much information as possible as soon as possible. To hell with suspense. Readers should have such complete understanding of what is going on, where and why, that they could finish the story themselves, should cockroaches eat the last few pages.
