When I click on "Currently Stored Cookies..." KM crashes?! I tried it three times

Oh, sounds familiar... but on Win98+Kex2016. Sqlite just doesn't work here, and it's used for storing all sorts of stuff, cookies and site permissions too. And history broken, really a pain.
I remember sqlite3.dll and/or omni sqlite version had some bug in an earlier build, and roytam fixed something... But not quite sure if it worked on my system or not, guess rather not.

On Win2000 it should work much better though, it's the official target system.
Did you use a fresh download from here? (Ignore the date in filename, younger builds kept the same name)

Maybe roytam can fix that confused smiley

To edit cookies you have extensions like the sqlite manager:
http://kmext.sourceforge.net/km74/

There is no easy way since at Mozilla implemented the sqlite DB format to store things like cookies.

@win2kfan
Create a backup of cookies.sqlite in profile folder and delete cookies.sqlite. If it happens again after browsing a specific site, just post the tiny new cookies.sqlite file to help writing a fix.

I tried this under 98se with kernelex set for 2k and it won't launch.

What other dependencies might it have? I've tried installing dotnet, vcredist, and even some "unofficial" service pack thing, nothing makes it wanna run. With Opera 11 most https wont open so I'm hoping this browser helps....

What's your KernelEx version? The official old one (basic version) is not enough, it needs updates from at least 2016 posted in MSFN forum.
Basic KernelEx allows to run Opera 12.02 though, not just 11.
Might be that some VB files or whatever are missing too, but can't remember without looking up, please study yourself the first pages... ;-)
And do you know DependencyWalker? If not, it's a popular great tool for exactly such cases, to check which dependent files of an exe or a dll may be broken or missing.

But overall this 74 version (based on Firefox24) is too shaky here on Win98, severe bugs and crashing very often. It's my fallback browser when nothing else helps to access important modern sites.

Are you using 98 just for retro fun, while having a modern main machine too, or is 98 your main system?

If restoring access to modern websites is the most urgent goal, and you have basic KernelEx installed already, would try roytam1 fork of Firefox3.6+TLS1.2 (fx36) and then look further.
Or for KM-fans with vanilla Windows98 (no KernelEx), his special build KM1.5.4+TLS1.2, but the engine inside is extremely old. And unfortunately he didn't include 2 necessary VB-files in the package, msvcp71.dll + msvcr71.dll. If necessary and not found in other installed progs yet, those files can be copied over from the original ancient KM154 exe-version, after unzipping or installing it.

Thanks for quick reply. I am playing purely for fun, my oldest real hardware is p4 and runs XP well enough, and even some modern linux distros that still offer 32bit so no problems in real world. Just playing in vbox and trying to find a usable browser. I tried Firefox 10 and seamonkey 2 but can't see my own text when typing. Searched and ran across recommendations for this. But wasn't aware it wasn't reliable/stable.

Yes I installed Kernelex 4.52 and overwrote it with updates. I'll try that newer opera and firefox version you reccommended, thanks.

Works for me. I can show you a screenshot I just made. You should see an arrow followed by the "Download" text.

Are you sure you placed the .kmm file AND the folder with the script in the macro folder?

If the script isn't found, and so loaded, it can't do anything.

As told in the thread it MUST be on K-meleon Root macros folder.

Nothing.

This is not intended for copyrighted (or flagged as is), content.

I told somewhere on the thread but not in the download post...

http://kmeleonbrowser.org/forum/read.php?9,142050,151874#msg-151874

I'll edit the download link post after write this.

Also, is quite off-topic and this should be discussed on its (macro/extension) thread but copyright lobby is actively fighting anything that lets download youtube videos so be warned some day, some (i don't know who as no one is there) could receive a cease and desists.

Yeah, I had a dim memory it simply does nothing, but wasn't sure.
Anyway, the prob is not so much that it can't download some videos, but if the script does nothing at all and doesn't show the slightest indication what's wrong, users will think the macro itself is broken. Like (probably?) here. That the real reason isn't obvious at all was even just demonstrated by yourself, assuming an installation error ;-)

The code was there, but it is commented out. I found dumb to create entries for something that can't be even downloaded. I'll see how can I warn.

In my version the Console doesn't work at all, except at Startup. Then frozen.
Guess lots of KG74-bugs on 9X are just ordinary browser bugs, not system related.
Even the original KM74 back then was quite buggy, even had injectJS-return broken again.
Thankfully roytam could fix that in KMG74, and he also got the native useragent site-exceptions function initialized (since KG74+KG76, was contained but broken since FF20/KM74-76RC)
Still far too heavy bugs in 74 for main use, and not sure what may be my semi-old KernelEx and what a normal browser bug. Mainly all sqlite broken (no history etc.), and the title bar shows only a mess, a very short one (1-2 chars?), and extremely annoying, for every single link on a loaded page it adds ca 0.2sec sleeping time before showing the page at all.

The crazy thing is, on msfn is a WinME-user with top-updated KernelEx who does a lot of testing how far he can go, and it seems the younger a tested Firefox is, the BETTER it runs on ME! Currently he arrived at Firefox48 (!!), without major probs after some config fiddling - incredible...
https://msfn.org/board/topic/181424-firefox-24-for-me-and-98/?do=findComment&comment=1190155

On the other hand, KMG74 is quite buggy for him too, and KMG76 works better, the engine inside, but has almost completely unreadable menus on his machine. Only a few menu lines look right, the others gone completely crazy - not just encoding, the length of the names is completely different too, partly much less and partly many more characters as the real names, and his screenshot shows even bits of a macroinfo-statusline showing up in the menu instead of the intended menu name sad smiley And his console seems to complain about weird symbols in main.kmm although in reality those are just normal latin, like a "c", have verified with Babelmap. And in lines that weren't changed in decades. A difference is that in KM76 main.kmm has a utf8-BOM (and troubleprefs macro too), previously all macros were ansi only.
Somehow KM in 9x has a major encoding prob for native system stuff like menus and titlebar, although otherwise utf works fine. And although the menus are even plain english anyway! And although they still look normal in KMG74 (but love to crash, especially if a menu was modified mid-session by macro). Only completely broken in his KMG76.

What I find especially interesting is that he can run KMG76 on ME, admittedly with lots of KernelEx hacks, but still surprising considering I keep reading in forums that 76 even refuses to run on XP SP2, needing min SP3...

This is really impressive!

I packaged the most recent version into an installer (NSIS like the old official versions). The .7z files are great for newer versions, especially with frequent releases. I think on Windows 2000/98 there could be more issues with the computer not having a good extraction tool. Let me know if there are any issues, and if anyone wants to mirror the installer feel free (github is https).

Installer direct link:
