I'm using the version from January (KM76.2-Goanna-20200104) and now youtube told me, that the browser won't be supported any longer. Would it help, if I use the newest version or is the problem then still there?

It's happening to all of us.

It has happened in the past and will happen. As long as you don't have the user agent expected by Google/YouTube (it doesn't do further tests, as just with JavaScript disabled, so they can't test browser features, it behaves the same), your browser is outdated. And might be true, most forks can't follow the living standard if they (G/YT) adopt it, but it is just the typical scary message from time to time.

Don't worry too much, unless you really have to worry

I just altered the FF version in general.useragent.override.youtube.com from 42 to 60. You need to do it twice, there's two occurrences in there. Then restart KM.

And no, the new look is not an improvement.

that used to be very simple, but meanwhile depends much on browser version.
Which one do you have?

If KM-Goanna76, open URL "about:config" and type in filter line "useragent", then right-click on the youtube line to change it. Or install macro "useragents2018" to get a menu.

Old KM-versions: menu Tools > Privacy > UserAgent. If you only see "compatibility" macros, install "useragents2018" too or the UA macro by JohnHell. In KM-gecko out-of-box only the global UA can be changed (gecko74+ can handle site UAs only after a little omni.ja edit)

KM-Pro and KG74: contain a hard-embedded Firefox addon, completely different as native methods, and what I absolutely can't stand: it's NOT removable

I found a bug? well, i dont use tabs, i disable tabs in settings, and when tabs are disabled, videos dont go to fullscreen, for example in youtube, when i press the fullscreen button in video.

If i enable tabs, no problem. The problem is only with disabled tabs

due to the recent changes to the Youtube site this 2020, it's time to update the Firefox UA strings for KM-Goanna

like in "general.useragent.override.youtube.com" & "general.useragent.override.googlevideos.com", change Firefox version to at least 60.0 or higher for the Youtube, Hooktube & Invidious sites to work correctly this year

Yes, it works nice for me with current ESR FF UA string version 68.0. :s

Starting with each version in 2020, the password management function cannot display the previously stored "login data (account name and password)".
The version must be downgraded to 20191214 before the previously saved log-in data is restored.

KM76.2-Goanna-20191214 Record login data shows normal;

IIRC those data are stored in NSS database, and due to NSS changes, your older data are stored in SQLite format and now they're stored in DBM format. You need to save the account info again.

I have switched to a newer version of K-Meleon released in February 2020. To my surprise, I do not see "Currently stored cookies..." button anymore. There is still an menu option "Clear Cookies" but it does not let me choose which cookies to keep. How are users supposed to selectively keep/delete cookies now?

I also take the opportunity to thank the developers for the progress and more websites working properly with the newer version. Hopefully, booking tickets at www.airbaltic.com will be avalable with K-Meleon too some day (with the aforementioned version an attempt to search tickets just displays a blank page).

Please disregard the first paragraph of my previous message. Now the way to access cookie viewer/eraser is menu Tools > Privacy > View Data > View Cookies. It is a good thing that users still have an option to get rid of some unwanted cookies while keeping others.

Also, when i tried your last km, i made a test for observers notification 'command-line-startup'. Subject is nsICommandLine now, but km is not behaving as expected. It treats the command-line flag as a url.
Read about nsICommandLine.
nsICommandLine.handleFlag() function should determine if the flag was provided and remove it from the list of flags waiting to be processed in one operation.
I wrote a little test addon. Put -clstest in the command line and try it first in some older firefox to see what is expected. You can disable nsICommandLine.handleFlag() function (use pref 'extensions.clstest.handleFlag.enabled') and open the error console to view logs. You can download portable ff55 here, you will also need this.
Then you repeat a similar test in km.

Latest KMeleon Goanna version 20200307 is really good.
IMHO is the best version released by now.
Every new version works better than the last one.
