Possible bug in KM

I'm using K-Meleon/76.4.5 Goanna on Windows 7, and am seeing some odd behavior:
Once in a while after I close a tab the program stops responding to the mouse. I can fix that in either of two ways: (1) By double-clicking on the page (not on a tab), which for some unknown reason also opens a blank tab at the same time, or (2) by briefly minimizing KM to the desktop, which I can toggle with a special key on my wireless keyboard. I can't minimize KM from the title bar buttons, even though I haven't hidden that bar.

I can't recall whether or not this also happened in KM75 Gecko, having been away from KM for several years.

I think I may have figured out what causes the behavior I described above: My habit of double-clicking tabs to close them. I've started using a keyboard accelerator, instead, and the bug hasn't shown up so far.

As I can recognize - this is an old known problem of page losing focus (mouse focus) after some actions or sometimes without any. My 'workaround' always was 2 Alt+Tab's to get focus out KM and then back. This makes mouse 'feel' the page again.
