One remarkable thing about KM is that if you open about 20 tabs there and it eats up about 150-200Mb of RAM, than try to leave it intact for some time - you'll see that RAM consumption decreases significantly!

Robert, you can resize bookmarks panel manually (sliding the right edge to the left) when it is not locked. So, even if you theme doesn't have bookmarks button on the main panel, you can leave only what you need there...

All of this are not the KM problems: 1) you must unload all program modules before uninstall it. 2) high memory consumption is the 'feature' of modern internet pages not browsers so you cannot reduce it under some level. The modern minimum is about 25-30 Mb for one opened page (tab) and can be achieved by KM with more chance than by any contender... If you want get the maximum from

once again: 1.7 don't show you any dialog about remembering password but it DO remember. I use 1.7 and all my passwords are stored - I don't know where exactly, but they are.

You cannot access password manager in 1.7 but it works (without confirmation)... I think the speed difference of versions is sort of artefact though...

Yes, flash is CPU hog independently of player version. FF for example even has separate process for flash-player. And the best solution for now is what JujuLand wrote: use Flashblock by default. You can add some sites to flashblock exceptions list and (as written) manually allow any single flash module on the page...

Yes, it does. This is old engine effect on heavily scripted pages as I suppose. You can wait a bit or just control scripts activity by built-in or third-party tools... P.S. But I found no such problems with rutracker.org though

Quoteexecmanoj This browser seem to be faster than anyother browser I have used, and interface is pretty simple, but one improvement needs to be done, browser eats up lots of memory and cpu, that can be minimized, after that it has potential to beat all browser like firefox, chrome, safari, opera etc.. I am using it for 12 hours now. Thanks for the great jo guys. You are right as many as half.

Puppy and most ubuntu-based distros usually handle network with ease. But Linux isn't obligatory to feel free from malware. I'm happy under Windows without viruses and antiviruses too ;-) \dev\brain rules! :-)))

Quotecaktus Just about have 1.6.0 (or maybe it's 1.6.17db+v8, I'm not sure any more) like I want it except for 3 things I need help with. 1. Can some one tell me how I can move the "GO" button to between the URL Bar and the BACK button? I tried changing the button position numbers in the Toolbars.cfg but that just made matters worse. 2. Also, when I hover the mouse po

Announcement: Current build renamed to CommMeleon 1.6+. The reason is to avoid any confusion in future as I'm going to assemble similar packages based on bare official 1.6 beta as well as on 1.7 branch as well as localized russian CommMeleon. So, the name must be self-explaining: - 'CommMeleon' means this is my compilation based on the principles above. - '1.6'

QuoteCJ Is it just me or is the Tab Close button missing from the dbTango skin? The New Tab button seems to be paired with the search box button instead. Yes, this button is absent in this dbTango config (made by dugbug). I think it isn't necessary because you can activate closing 'x' on every tab (in Preferences) or simply double-click on tab like I do. It's fast and conve

soccerfan, I'm afraid of being wrong but this is how I understand it: 1) yes, it needs the 80's runtimes like any KM version above 1.6 and their derivatives. All builds, you've count, need this. And this cannot be integrated in distro as these libraries must be in Windows system folder. So this point depends on PCs current config. However, if you miss them - just install and

Mark is truly clean simple portable software consisting of just single file, which is included in my package. So don't search it on the web (development is stopped some years ago) - just put this file into AVG exceptions list instead.

ESET Must Die! Too much false alarms and other issues... There is no malware in the package. Moreover, this package is one of the main parts in my security config which is free from monstrous Antivirus and Internet Security products. ;-)

Update to 1.6beta - release engine is really outdated and you would face at multiple problems. You can try new versions without uninstalling 'official release' - just take one of portable builds from my signature or download the 7z-archived 1.6beta2.4 or try my new 'compilation' CommMeleon from http://kmeleonbrowser.org/forum/read.php?1,121747

I want to explain the reason to include Privoxy and Mark as well as outline the way I'm going to evolve this KM-package. My intention is to show users all the beauty and power (oftentimes hidden) of K-Meleon. Integration of 3rd-party apps has several targets: 1) Add some web-related functionality, making KM-surfing better (faster, easier, more secured etc.); 2) add some usability where

cactus, probably deadlock is right - your problem hides in the packer. Taking this opportunity I've downloaded the db+ build, unpacked it, set it up, applying most convenient options and adding some tools and extensions - then I've repacked this into RAR and uploaded to the web. So you can be the first to tryout so to say 'Comminity Recommended K-Meleon' More info an

The story goes ahead: today I've found one more solution - so elegant and simple that I can't remain silent. Meet Fav20.com Looks fresh and easy but in contrast with LinkaGoGo it handles bookmarks (BM) in modern visual way. The button added to the BM-panel works fine opening your private page on Fav20.com if you are logged in there (and when you are not - opens the so to say &#

QuoteSteve I found these instructions too hard to follow. The zip is not self extracting to the right place. It wants to put news skins and other folders in the KMeleon directory under program files if I put it there and try to run it. Should I trust that? Yes, trust it! You need to unpack zip-archive directly into K-Meleon folder under Program Files. This doesn't overwrite anything but o

Yes, I know about extension for fast Google bookmarking and I've been using it for sometime, but: - it's not so easy as LGG because I had to manually fill in the bookmark description (and something more??? I can't remember exactly...) - it captures 'Shift+G' combination which is moveton IMHO (I need this to simply write something as 'Google' or 'Gates

I'd been looking for usable web bookmarking service suitable for KM-users (taking myself as example ;-). And finally I've got it! Looks like far-fetched problem? Slow down. I've tried so many services and hardly could find required, unless I've got it! So what were the requirements? 1) This shouldn't be necessarily 'social' bookmarking (as almost any book

Quotecaktus BTW, is there any particular difference between K-Meleon-1.6.17db+v8.7z (8.2M Updated on: Jan 25, 2012 and the 1.6.0Beta 2010-12-14? And what is "+v8"? Thanx. This is dugbug's build of KM with some tweaks in about:config settings. Author periodically updates this pack of tweaks called him "KMFILES" and every new change leads to increasing 'ver

One important note: there were issues that KM fails to handle very big bookmark-collections (some entries are not shown if more than 300 bookmarks). I don't know, whether this problem remains in current 1.6-1.7 builds, but get ready to face such situation...

1) 'Good' news: You CAN get what you need (full Chrome bookmark folder structure in KM) 2) 'Bad' news: you cannot avoid export/import procedure 3) 'Ugly' news: you need some manual work to get it... Why laughing? Because I can help you get deeper in K-Meleon world, learn something new and useful for you if you want to stick with KM. And you'll love

QuoteJohnHell Does the same every browser with your configuration? Chrome-based Comodo Dragon opens correctly on win7. *** And my i10n-problem is that KM doesn't handle links like this, that combain latin base & cyrillic part as anchor: http://all-transport.info/regions/ru47.html#Волхов KM converts it to UTF in URLbar http://all-transport.info/regions/ru47.html#%D0%92
