WHOOSH.... You're flying by at hyperspeed, LOL!! Sorry can't follow that fast, and currently have my head stuffed with other skin-and-macro-related details, but will sure keep this thread in mind for later studying in more detail The privbar is also one of my TOP important reasons to love KM, although I recently read here that FFox has it too (named prefbar there). Never mind An

Not necessarily just with updating, but since KM is so deeply configurazable, even if you don't really know exactly what you're doing, it's also easier to mess something accidentally... And I do play around with it a lot. It's no work to just copy a folder, so sure worth saving the trouble just in case if

You're definitely on the same path as me Yeah, most of the stuff I've meanwhile figured out too, and especially my toolbar.cfg is meanwhile full with right- and left-click menus, and additional buttons for macros, and additional toolbars for extra stuff. Wanted long-since to get it cleaned up and ready to post as skin, but alas am so slow with everything, and instead of getting that ch

Xcuse my perhaps stupid question, am not an expert, but why don't you simply disable this plugin, if it's so buggy? E.g. by tracking down its path as shown in Help/About-Plugins, then renaming it in the file explorer. I don't have it at all, and when clicking on a pdf-link, am asked whether to open it (externally) or to save it, like with other external file types too...

Hey! Just stumbled over this, the KMeleon dragon on dmoz.org, am slightly surprised :O Just curious now, what's its origin, is there a history behind "him"...? http://www.dmoz.org/Computers/Data_Formats/Style_Sheets/CSS// http://www.dmoz.org/

I've just struggled around with it, since I just happen to be in the middle of making a new toolbar again, and so don't need to restart for temporary styles ;-) BTW, there are also two or three extensions for styles or stylesheets on kmext.sf.net... Anyway, knowing very little about CSS, always fiddling, but now it works /* ----- DO NOT EDIT ANYTHING ABOVE THIS LINE -------------

QuoteDaveski17If so, is it wise to uninstall the present version & install the new or can you install the new version over the top of the old version? One of the very first things to learn with KM, is to create a working backup copy of the program folder (and the profile folder, if it's elsewhere) Really most helpful and highly recommended... That said, they say one can install a new

WHOW again, Doon, that is incredible the weird things you figure out!! The icon cache and screen resolution, who would suspect anything like this? Those page may work for me, but they seem still very heavy on my ressources, so after opening and closing them a few times I had to restart anyway. BTW, my colors are set to 16 bit, that seems to be a little "lighter" for my system. Just for

Crazy, I had no idea there are that many plugins in the extensions center!! I may well have come across when checking out the site, but if at that moment my head was too busy with other stuff, I tend to forget it again Btw, I just downloaded today the new VLC 1.0.2 player. Would suppose the plugin is updated too, since the properties say so and it lists many more file formats as the one from km

WHOW - now that's a nice list!! And all those also work in a browser window? Can't find it on their site, blind as usual *sigh* Would love to try it, except that now that test video has been deleted, argh! :-(

Mon dieu... Profiles and reinstalling? Would be way too complicated for me, I just simply copy sometimes the whole KM-folder (where also my profile is in), and voila have a backup of everything. No prob, couldn't be simpler! Neither did I install it in the first place, just download, unzip, create an empty file "profile.ini" in it, and it's portable right-away. Which version

There's a slightly complicated workaround for firefox (+KM), but if it helps or not depends on which windowsmedia-player-plugin one has: http://www.krunk4ever.com/blog/2007/05/14/missing-codecs-in-firefox-to-play-video-in-gallery2/ It's also posted in this several years long thread with more details: http://gallery.menalto.com/node/35788 To put it short, and if I read that right

Whow - let me join you in being very confused now! ;-) I'm not an expert, just an end-user like you, with a little more experience for KM, but simply renaming a file back and forth can't really change it, no??? 1) That's okay, every time a new profile is created, it get's a random name. 2) That's okay too, in the default-folder are the templates for the initial bo

Bit older this thread yeah, but I just stumbled over it now while searching something else, as usual ;-) Any news on the block-flash-without-javascript front...? I've checked out the link above, looks promising, but doesn't seem to be targeted at all flash-variations (or what that is, am clueless with such stuff), because despite copying that code into my user-css, youtube still p

QuoteJohnHellProblem found: something was broken with the gecko 1.8.1.23 update. With the previous version no errors at the url given above and the svg files load correctly. Just tried it too, and can confirm. KM 153 out-of-the box can display the SVG, even in win98, then done nothing but a gecko-update and the SVG doesn't work anymore :-/

The flv-version plays fine, just not the avi. After some research now, does anyone have quicktime installed? On my old system it runs only a very outdated version, but in the meantime xvid seems to have been added to quicktime. My old plugin is "npqtplugin.dll", may be the same name for newer versions. Actually it's a whole bunch, the others have numbers at the end. Anyone has a n

The second file actually is a PNG, I think it's purpose is merely to show the content of the SVG to people who can't see it ;-) Thanx Guenter, no prob with the missing 9x-exe, I've got one to copy

Oh pity, so plugins seem to need every codec themselves, urgh.. According to GSPOT it's an xvid-mp4 avi. I've read that those plugins are universal, not browser-related, so wondering, would it work in FFox?? On my old system not, and when I click on "get plugin", FF tries then gives up: Plugin not found. But that need not mean much, I'm on win98 and have very little c

No idea if this plays a role here, but in general avis are tricky. They can contain all sorts of internal codecs, and if one is missing on a computer, WMP won't play it, even stand-alone. If the avi could be downloaded it would be interesting to test this. If it doesn't play in IE either, that might be a hint... Wondering, does the WMP-plugin play all the codecs that WMP-standalone k

Well, old threat, but while we're at it ;-) I really, really miss that "downloadhelper" addon from firefox, for videos, it's the main reasons I occasionally have to use FF. If this one could be adapted to KM that would be great!

Yogi + Arrow: Just guessing, you mean you prefer 24px...? ;-) That screen resolution sure is a most important point! And sure 24px-icons can be far prettier, as I noticed a couple times when playing with my skin buttons. But it's really complicated with the "felt" size of buttons... My ancient everyday computer has 1024px on 14", and 24-buttons are way too big for it. A

Hmm, frankly, don't like that loader thing personally, because people fiddle with their settings and skins and think they restarted, but keep forgetting that the loader must be restarted too, so nothing works ;-) So, as long as KM starts rather quick without it too, and it did seem to do that here, so the culprit is probably elsewhere than just the normal program... No clue, sorry... But

For some funny coincidence, I've just read shortly before Zen posted, that IE requires an "installed" flash, unlike Firefox and K-Meleon ;-) On a highly informative site by the way, regarding privacy: www.jsware.net/jsware/cook.php5#udata

Oh well, with the downloading from Adobe I had probs too, might well be that I used Opera too... Am on Win98se... Without javascript youtube tells me too, to update my flash, so this is sure the culprit... Settings are on F2/javascript... Or do you have some add-on installed to control it, like policies manager? Or perhaps there's some hint in "about:config"...?

Don't know it myself, but keep reading around here that facebook wants the user agent set to firefox (in Tools/User Agent or on the privacy-toolbar), and if that's not enough, you can try yet to enable ALL cookies (F2/privacy), and if that's still not enough, just wait a moment for someone who's not as clueless as me ;-)
