Lovely. Aahhh... It helps to include a URL in the text to let us get there quickly. Never mind, I've downloaded the jpg, and uploaded it to my repository here. OK. It seems it's not on the freebiesjeebies.org site. I can see a URL for freestuffworld.com, which seems to be a "junk" site. I visited it, but could not bring up anything on FreebiesJeebies. I would take

Hi phenix - I must confess, FreebiesJeebies is a very peculiar site! It doesn't set cookies -- but YouTube does. I don't have any privacy settings, but I don't see any pop-ups, and I can't see anything in the HTML which could generate or call a pop-up. (I lied. I do use eDexter to make my hosts file civilised -- and faster.) I even explicitly allowed FreebiesJeebie

Ta-DAAAAA! Found it! OK. It's a My.Opera forum, but the message is the same. Look in here. The basics are that "...form elements are undefined in the W3C CSS2.1 specification." and "All input form elements are "boxes", but only defined by the User Agent. This means that these boxes are not accessible to the CSS renderer, and their treatment is not defined i

Hi adodupan - Thanks for the context. I tried the snippet in my userContent.css, but it would only work on page text, not in text-boxes. (I do remember a thread in the Opera forums about getting css things to work in text-boxes, and it was not encouraging. Sometimes they would work! Half the problem is that inside the text-box is not actually part of the web page :O) Having said that, I

Hi adodupan - I just ran your CSS past the jigsaw.W3C CSS validator. It's what I thought: QuoteThe pseudo-element ::-moz-selection can't appear here in the context css21 [-moz-selection] OTOH, removing one of the ":" gives: QuoteUnknown pseudo-element or pseudo-class :-moz-selection Can't help you further without some more context. Gordon.

Hi deadlock - QuotedeadlockIt can be fixed in line 71 of Cookies.h For non-devs like me, is there a download, or do we wait for the next beta/stable release? For me, it's not a huge problem: I would never have seen it except that I needed to check the existence of a particular cookie -- normally I never bother I'm just happy that now there is a browser which is "the whole

Hi everybody - QuotedeadlockThe empty expiry values are not empty. They are bigger than other date values. Integer overflow? FWIW, looking at my cookies with SqLite Browser (thanks John!), most expiry fields are 10-digit numbers. However, at least 2 are 12-digits, one was 11-digits. Following deadlock's lead, I deleted the 5 cookies with the biggest expiry fields, and fed that back

Hi deadlock - QuoteKM 1.6b2 VC8 always crashes KM 1.6b3 VC8 always crashes KM 1.6b3 VC9 never crashes I have msvcp90 and msvcr90 and msvcm90 in WINNT\System32 -- interesting, the profiles from Dependency Walker do not show VC9, only VC8. Does this indicate KM 1.6b2 can't use VC9? It should be a full install, since I remember running vcredist_x86_C2008SP1.exe after reinstalling W2K

Hi deadlock - I've parked cookies.sqlite and cookies.sqlite-journal in here. Alas, I don't know how else to upload stuff cookies.sqlite-journal just turned up in my profile for no apparent reason. It didn't used to be there, and doesn't seem to do anything. KM still crashes. Gordon.

Hi Ronery - When you download a file, or load a new (big) page, what happens? (You've already told us that YouTube videos "freeze" the video part but the audio continues.) Can you do anything with the browser or the OS while KM is "frozen"? For example, change to a new tab, change to a different app? And does this behaviour happen only with certain sites, or just

@deadlock - Sorry, I don't have FF at all,and only 1.6.0b2 and 1.5.4 I'll try out 1.5.4, which I should have done earlier. {edit} Of course I should have remembered... 1.5.4 uses a text file... :s {end edit} @siria - The internals of the cookies are not that important (yet!), but I really wanted to see who had set them. This problem is completely reproducible: at any time,

I need to view a cookie, but Tools>Privacy>View Data>View Cookies causes an instant crash with the message: "Km has generated errors and will be closed by Windows. An error log is being created" I cannot find the error log it talks about, nothing shows up in Drwatson, and the Crashrpt.exe I just installed doesn't seem to work. I'm using 1.6.0b2 in W2K Pro SP4 r

Hi siria - Quotesiria my explorer opens in the worst possible way: I've lost the link for this, so I'll post it here (as good as any place?): Explorer [(,)/root,<object>] /n Opens a new single-pane window for the default selection. This is usually the root of the drive Windows is installed on. If the window is alr

G'day all - FWIW, I stumbled across this in Whirlpool forums: data:text/html,<pre%20contenteditable="">type%20here</pre> which opens up a write-enabled "notepad" in the browser window/tab. I had a quick search through this forum but couldn't find any mention. It does have a fault in KM though, the z and x don't work -- didn't try all t

Hi deadlock - OK, got your embed files, deleted iconcache.dat, all works well now... BUT, how do I go about editing the necessary certificate? No information about the certificate is given, so I don't know which I should mutilate in Tools>Privacy>View Data>View Certificates. Further, where would I look to import a certificate if the one I need is not in the list? The "

G'day all - QuotedeadlockDid gordon451 try to edit the binary file embed.jar with a text-editor? Ummm... No. I'm lazy, and given that UTF-8 is needed, it was just too difficult How would I keep my old CSS? I thought that would be handled in the embed.jar? Quotesiriabut are you really sure it has no line-breaking...? Well, perhaps I didn't explain it clearly/correctly.

Quoteguenter2.) CSS or other code change. Does the button add an exception when clicked? Else the new jar does not cover all needed changes. Yes, the exception is there. Unfortunately, when a slow DSLAM generated a File Not Found, the K-M site now has the alert favicon associated with it instead of the gecko. This persists after a browser restart. The good news is that this did not happen

Hi guenter - OK, I've replaced embed.jar. 1) is there supposed to be a new manifest to go with it? 2) it has screwed up the error alert layout: the message is there, but the nice box is gone. It does have the alert icon though. CSS? disrupted posted his "embed-certerrorfixes.7z" on or before June 6, but he also posted "netError.xhtml" on about June 8. I ass

Hi guenter - Ummmm... I read it, several times. Please bear with my lack of uptake. I think I see what's meant to happen, but honestly, all my programming skills evaporated 3 decades ago. I think I have to drop netError.xhtml into "C:\Program Files\K-Meleon\defaults\profile\macros". Is this correct? BTW, this is a multi-user machine, admin and 4 users. I do understand

Hi disrupted - Ummm... No, it's supposed to be beta2 :s. I checked my file listing and js_bridge.xpt, compreg.dat and xpti.dat are present in the main folder. @siria - I haven't removed/hidden the title bar, the bug just works with the tab bar in the normal(4 down) position. I just have to be careful I don't invoke it... @deadlock - I think I will report it as a bug, but

I found this post talking about moving maximised windows where the title bar has been disabled/removed. Can I assume that all 1.6.x ++ will have this feature? Gordon.

Hi everyone - I accidentally discovered (about 10 minutes ago) that a KM 1.6.0b2 maximised window can be dragged around the screen by left-clicking on the tab bar. A "restored" window (un-maximised) can be dragged in either the title bar or the tab bar. If you move the maximised window and then restore it, KM will remember the last position you had the restored window, and place the

Hi margarita - QuotemargaritaMy first fear is that Google will make Apple Webkit as a rendering engine standard due to its powerful media and the money spent in Mozilla Foundation. Just like the Trident engine, and the Gecko engine? I'm close to being a "Senior Citizen", so I remember very well the "Browser War" between Netscape and Microsoft. That actually led to

G'day all - especially margarita - Keeping this thread (K-Meleon Development:Mozilla kills embedding support for Gecko) in mind, QtWeb has one major point in its favour, and commits two heinous crimes: It is the only WebKit browser that works on W2K. Forget about Iron, which won't. It is as slow as a wet week, and It does not support Java. Yes, it is configurable, but nowhe
