QuoteMello I have created extensions.manifest and entered the line you indicated and now "block content" appears in the tools menu but when I click on it nothing shows in the box that opens I can see the tree contents in the various folders and I guess from the ico in skins I shold be seeing an icon somewhere on a toolbar is that right? .....I don't. You should see somethin

In extensions folder, if you don't have a extensions.manifest file, create it by creating a new text document and renaming form whatever.txt to extensions.manifest. Then add the line: manifest block_content/chrome.manifest If you already have that that file just append that line. You should have something like, if block_content is the only extension that you have ever installed:

I have to correct myself. After a local test, as js files are called via script tag, the download is not performed. You were right siria. EDIT: in the above I meant disabling JavaScript.

Quotesiria Wow, it really works?? I don't understand that first/second tab thing (the screenshot only shows one), but as long as download are blocked, that's great! No wait... no? NO?! I can't believe this: the stylesheets-block even works in my old KM1.6??!!! Where did I have my eyes, why have I never found that before?? Meanwhile it dawned on me again Dorian had mentioned s

Nice find, Siria. It works, but not as expected. The first tab that is supposed to be used to block the download, doesn't block the downloads. It's being done actually, with the second tab (permissions). The job is being done with prefs: permissions.default.image (the same we use to block images) permissions.default.script permissions.default.stylesheet permissions.default.

QuoteMello Thank you for explaining, I don't like the sound of inline css The reason I ask is because I use a dongle for a couple months of the year and the bandwidth is expensive (£25 for 7G. To compensate I often use K-m without images etc and send selected pages I want to view in full to another unfiltered browser. This year however I seem to be eating up more bandwidth than last w

QuoteMello When images, javascript, animations, page colours and flash etc are disabled is it that they aren't downloaded at all or just aren't displayed in the browser? That statement is only valid for images and Flash. If they are blocked, they aren't downloaded. The rest, all text, is still downloaded. Javascript will be blocked for execution but downloaded. CSS styling wil

QuoteJamesD QuoteJohnHell Check on security permissions that you are the owner, and even if you are, re-apply to folder and children. YES! That worked. I gave creator/owner full control and also user Jim for the folder for KM. Now my KM that is in Program Files does start just fine. Great. I thought of it because I recently had a problem with a registry key in Windows 7, where I was the

Check on security permissions that you are the owner, and even if you are, re-apply to folder and children. Maybe in the upgrade something messed up. That is the reason for clean installs.

Quotecallahan Thanks again JohnHell and everyone ... I used a "flash uninstaller" first to get the old flash version off my computer and then I installed this new v18 ESR flash. I wasn't sure if that was necessary but it couldn't hurt I guess ... since the change went from v13 to v18. ... Just for the record, Adobe has its own uninstaller, just in case you used some cust

QuoteCroat-meleon Hi, Congratulations on excellent work and development of K-Meleon. I'm a new user, but K-Meleon is my favorite browser now. Thank you very much. This is not important, but nevertheless I wish to report it: When I use the search option on this site: https://www.imdb.com/ I get only: "We hope to launch SSL access to all pages on IMDb in the very near future. No problems at all with user.js. My prefs get reset at startup. 75.0 and 75.1 Zero3k, I haven't seen any difference, but remember the preference I told in another thread: browser.chrome.favicons set to true. Otherwise only when url to favicon is set would be recognized. George, those images are private (403 forbidden).

Quotesiria QuotejjfBig problem with K-Meleon 75 (with XP Pro SP2) Interesting, I thought KM75 needs at least SP3? Anyone know? Or is your system tweaked a bit? No, SP2 is the virtual machine I run into, ran 74 and runs 75, and no problems, unless the magenta bug is related to it, but I'm not willing to upgrade the virtual machine just for testing purposes. Others have the chance to d

QuoteDorian QuoteJohnHell The images in menu now don't have black background (was this corrected now, I'm loosing the track). W2k menu are working now?? QuoteJohnHell Is it the first pixel to be magenta a standard for transparency? Ok, why it was working before? Yes. But bmpmenu was always using pink. Now everything work the same. I could force pink again, not like it matter

Not talking about your macro, JamesD, but an issue in 2K, absolutely unrelated (unless related to default coloring the urlbar). EDIT: to clear it, I'm not using your handy macro.

QuoteDorian [...] - Tweaked image a bit (may broke/fix do nothing on w2k) I don't see any change. URLs get hidden or whatever we could call that. The magenta background for images that weren't magenta background, now are magenta background (the only one that happens). QuoteDorian Is there still anything having transparency on w2K ? :s (bookmark toolbars, ...) Sure!, toolbars. The last frontier of backgrounds in 75.1 (let me joke with this). QuoteDorian Klassic skin look fine on xp (not seeing problem with magenta here) You are right but is happening with only one image, that never happened before on XP nor on 2K, in my skin. Curious. Weird. I'll

QuoteDorian QuoteJohnHell The bug in the url bar loading the content as url, if I'm not wrong, can be reproduced as: It happens when the content of the url bar and the first choice in the drop down list are the same. This is probably not new, and the default behavior of the combo box. Not sure how I can fix this. This didn't happen in 1.x, but I can be wrong. Siria could confirm.

QuoteDorian QuoteJohnHell Another bug in menus, after fixing the overlaping, and beyond the new reported by Yogi, is that now, in 2k, the menu icons get black background . The trusted old skins are getting broken on my system You want me to move to new skin system by making all black background LOL Yes, please do But this won't make a difference on w2k. In 75.1, favicons now share the

Little notes. [2k and partially XP] The menus in 75.1 b1u3 not only have black backgrounds, but magenta backgrounds in old skins. Looks like there is not transparent background applied. The black background isn't shown in XP SP2 but it is the magenta. I'll try to "clean" of backups (copies of files) and I privately send you the skin if you want to test. [2k and

My 2k only glitch with url bar, still persists. I think that don't letting the system decide the size of the url bar was a bad idea, not for it, but for the consequence (on me at least, not general). As you, or someone else, asked, why someone would like to have a different size than system default? If the size of text is so tiny, maybe that person should consider the changes on system di

Quoterodocop P.S. I don't know where does he get them from. My owns installs obviously and with custom hexings. If I could, I'd extract them from the installers directly, but they are in compressed and/or encrypted binary format. Maybe I dig if there is a way, but I don't know if it will be.

Sorry for not testing more, I had to go as was the only time that the f**** Sahara heat wave + sun goes away a little to work outside down here. I found the bug. You said that you only touched the menus, and there it is the problem. Old skin system is broken because toolbar icons are built in 75.1 through menuicons.cfg, as it was a new skin with skin.cfg and defaulted the size to 16x16

QuoteDorian QuoteJohnHell I didn't touch the toolbars, only the menus :\ Where can I get your skin? In my Hard Disk Basically is this one, Netscape 4.x: http://kmeleonbrowser.org/wiki/SkinsAndThrobbers#skins Custom toolbars and new icons created/added, true, but never had these issues. Hey, but it's not only me, but Yogi too. In fact, after you said the above, clearly

For 2k and XP: Old skin issues: - BMP+alpha now generates black backgrounds (2k only) - skins icon size are not respected, now uses the new skin system size - as Yogi said, random icons not choosing the correct ones - as Yogi said, disabled icons not working on toolbars, but do on menus Menu issues: - menus get compacted and now overlap the command associated and the item text

QuoteDorian As far as I remember, this is a kmeleon pref (even though the prefix is not kmeleon). And sorry, I don't smoke ^^. A color is just a number, you're just missing the color picker to find it for you here. Ok, sorry, then, for any mistake said above.

QuoteDorian Nothing weird. I was just in an hurry https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/desktop/dd183449(v=vs.85).aspx But this is a Mozilla pref, not a K-meleon pref, right? If I'm not wrong, is a Seamonkey one, and as K-meleon was initially based on its branch, there it comes from, right? I mean you didn't implement it, or did you? Firefox lost this pref in its
