I can't help much with JS, but I should say that all per-site permissions are handled in Firefox by new Permissions manager, available at about:Ñ€ermissions No glue whether does it work or not, but you can open it and play with settings for your sites. They should be stored in profile's permissions.sqlite, I think. Cannot help more. If this doesn't have effect in KM - the

As I understand, some 'version' info taken from region.properties file is copied into mimetypes.rdf. When 'version' number in prefs and rdf-file stop matching - new data is written to rdf and it gets unlocked. But I can't find the reason for locking though. Maybe Dorian can tell us?

clutterless, well... I was playing with 98's unofficial packs too. I've created KM Twin also. And I even tried to run KM 1.6 there on 98. But even so I'm bot an expert in your question as I hadn't use 98 for everyday job for years. All I can say is that speaking about compatibility with 98 all the 1.6-1.7 builds are just equal. Select what you like more. Every bui

don't use KM 1.8 - it was test unofficial build very outdated now. Upgrade to KM75RC2 with update2 - this one handles sessions much more better.

I cannot explain why KM locks mailto dropdown every time - while Firefox doesn't. May be someone more experienced in Mozilla hacking can.

Now we shell unlock chooser for mailto protocol handlers. 1) download file 'webprotocol.js' and save it to \browser\defaults\preferences 2) restart K-Meleon 3) open about:config page (type this address in URLbar or just run menu item Edit->Configuration->Browser Configuration) 4) press 'I'll be careful, I promise!' button to get into prefs 5) type &

Well... Forget it all. That's how it works in KM 75 RC2: 1) type in URLbar about:Ñ€references Settings page will open. 2) select 'Applications' in menu on the left. mimetypes and protocols list opens 3) scroll down to the 'mailto' record 4) you can select Gmail in the dropdown list in right column like shown (image is clickable for fullsize): Tha

Note for my comrades involved in development of MIME editor: I found that RVJ can edit only parts of mimetypes.rdf applied to mimetypes not protocols (named 'schemes' in RDF). Being precise, procedure that's described above, DOES change parameter NC:alwaysAsk="true" in <RDF:description RDF:about="urn: scheme:handler:mailto" to "false"

Well, folks - aren't we so stupid as those who forget their own tools? RVJmimeedit works fine to handle this job. So, what do you need, Ralph, are the next steps: 1) download and install (unpack into KM folder) this archive with RVJmimeedit 0.6.3 addon prepared by JujuLand 2) *optional* save this macroextension written by siria (and posted there) into your 'macros' f

I found advice how-to set it in FF: in Preferences->Applications it can be done visually. (Mailto web handlers are described in chrome://browser-region/locale/region.properties) then I copy FF's fresh saved mimetypes.rdf over KM's one - and voila! Mailto: Gmails now! (but in KM you cannot change it through about:preferences GUI) But wait! I've added some prefs from fi

I'll make this anyway for someday ;-) Let's try to start. I think commands.html can be added to locale like readme-file - for autochoosing. Or maybe simply create local package of relatively linked pages for different language and make it select lang reading browser locale like some websites do? Or just manually - clicking on flag icons? Like here, for example:

Is there real need to prefer 1.7 to 1.6-branch? There are very-very few sites where you can see rendering difference between 1.7 and 1.6. But while 1.7 is an buggy alpha, 1.6 is almost release (no serious bugs and all the same functionality like in 1.7 - even more as 1.7 has some important ops broken: no AdBlock, no FindAsYouType, broken about:config management). If no particular site wh

I want to translate some docs like commands.html, but it isn't right way to 'hardcode' them in particular lang. Would be very K-Meleonyyyy to get possibility choose right language version according to browser current locale (like readme is chosen)

It is curious whether is possible to create LocalDocs in the same way, like our site wiki - so that they'll consist of some different language translations and the shown one was defined by KM-locale set up? Does anyone have a thought?

I've repacked old good macroextension for quick opening SaveAs dir and Downloads dir for new KM. • Needed changes in code made • russian kml added • ini-file updated for compatibility with KEM (if any still exists) Just one question: is now any way to automate adding macro description to Preferences panel (updating macros.properties file from locale or something like this)?

QuoteDorian It does not work well, that's why I didn't add it. What was the problem with downloads? Is that about handling unknown content types? (That was the only glitch I had while testing by myself). If yes, the reason may be the lack of 2 dtd-files in en-US locale: unknownContentType.dtd unknownContentType.properties in the km working omni.ja normally present in mozapps

QuoteDorian It's just that favorites may not be properly translated. What did you use to edit the dlls? But is there need to change something in favorites.dll localized? I see no difference between old and new content. I use ResourceHackerFX

Now it's OK with button, siria. Thank you very much! I've updated the link to the full ABP package - with new kmm and cleaned from redundant files.

One more question for all devs of kmm: there is call for some 'KMcomposer.xul' but I wasn't able to find it - not in naruman work, neither in other stuff. What is it - does anyone know? Or we should change it to native ABPs 'composer.xul'?

Yes, bookmarks toolbar isn't shown in 75 by default. And maybe in 74 too - I can't remember. You can switch it on as siria described. If no menu toolbar - use control-button (looking like a 'gear') and choose the way written by siria: View->Toolbars->Bookmarks

Some unneeded files could be left here, sure. As I defined needed components by try&error and wasn't able reverse analyze it precisely enough I shell clean package from unnecessary files with your help. What about nsBrowserGlue - it seemed like this was used by 'KMeleonPrint' or 'newtab' features from the same naruman's build which I was trying to adapt al

siria, I want to report one more bug found in macro: if one toggles "Keep button pressed" off and then back on - the button starts to show only cold state (and difference is only whether it is shown 'pressed' or not). Or you can switch it off again - than button doesn't show pressed state while changes itself from 'cold' to 'hot' state. Well,
