it's one of me favourite icons.. much better than the default green gecko; thank you jsnj. by the way; what icon editors do you use because i don't have one, i use photoshop or .net with icon plugins but i\d rather use a dedicated icon program that supports xp colours and transparency shadows.

Back then(4 years ago) I think I just used irfanview for that particular icon. It's the easiest to use but limited of course. Nowadays, I use Gimp mostly. I think it covers all bases. Just takes a little getting used to. But I still use irfanview, xnview and sometimes paint.net. Some things are just easier in certain apps. Doesn't photoshop cover all bases? I've never tried it because it's not free.

I'm use more simple tools for icons;
IcoFx 1.6.4
IrfanView 4.x
Pixelformer 0.9.6.3 RC3

i use a very old version of photoshop; doesn't natively support icons but through this http://www.sibcode.com/icon-plugin/index.htm .. i also prefer paint.net but also an older version cause of .net version .. don't like gimp much (personal issues with gtk+).. i'll try those programs now and i just found this one
http://varisoft.org/index.php?page=content/projekte/variicons i'll give it a test-drive as well

Yes, I think IcoFx can be portable but store config files in %appdata%.

Don't you hate when programs polute %appdata% without asking?

But at least it works, there are some others who refuse to even start unless properly installed.

Sorry for maybe posting in the wrong place.

I need to change the k-meleon icon that appears in the upper left corner of the window and in the taskbar.

I've tried with the icoFX's resource editor, but did not worked.

Any suggestion?

Thanks.

Do you mean the title-bar icon?
Type about:config, search for kmeleon.favicons.titleBar and set it to True (double-click).
The icon will change according to the page you are viewing.

I think that upper left icon is "main.ico" and is located in your skin folder.

No, I mean the icon near the name of the window when the application is opened or in the task bar when it's reduced.I've tried changing all the icons in the .exe and all the icons in the skin folder, but that one is not changed.

I think that upper left icon is "main.ico" and is located in your skin folder.

The main.ico overrides the resource in the exe.
It is the icon next to the window title(top left).

You only see the exe resource if it is hacked when no main.ico is present.

To change the ico used You do not need to resource hack but You only need to name the ico of Your choice main.ico and place it into the skin you use.

To see the result of a resource hack You rename or delete main.ico of used skin and restart browser.
