Does KM do charts yet? My bank Bendigo Bank has just changed its user account pages to dinky little charts, and probably other HTML5/WEBM/etc goodies, and I can only get them with IE11. Which is annoying given the relative age of non-upgraded IE11.
I have established this is not a UA string problem.

Charts? Not the slightest idea, am a little bit trailing behind with modern stuff  but rings a bell:
Just 2 days ago someone posted an extremely weird thing about "spreadsheets" - could that be related??

Hi siria - I do hope not, that sounds like that old "Outer Limits" sci-fi tv show!

I actually missed this post, I didn't notice mine was the last one on the page... I installed Pale Moon 27.9.4 earlier this afternoon, and that shows the page correctly. I haven't looked to see what engine PM27 is using.

I do hope we can find a programmer to give Roy a hand, K-M is falling 'way behind the competition when we look at current web page technology. Just because K-M handles like a dream is not a good reason for folks to keep chugging while other browsers simply work.

Whoa.... those lists are impressive! Just some thoughts... I usually just take a 3-4 seconds glance at those changelogs, having no clue of all that deep stuff anyway. And not (yet) able to use modern KM myself anytime soon. And those lists just being SO long and complicated... Then 2 weeks ago noticed randomly tons of telemetry fixes listed, which caught my eye, but no clue what it means exactly... and even contained a complete master branch import of Arctic-Fox! Whatever that means... Now several MarioNet serviceworker fixes (THAT rings my personal alarm bell, but will probably also FIX some js-heavy modern websites/services which many people need), plus -important- actually an interface for it!.... And new functions to trick nasty websites better working who's authors want them to be fully functional only in Chrome browser! (webkit-prefixes in CSS, have lately read about how now all other major browsers are forced to trick around this non-standard, monopolistic Chrome-condition)... And started wondering that lately all fixes seem to come from Arctic-Fox only... TONS of stuff imported... etc etc etc....

Major pity that LOTS of interesting and important stuff seems to go completely unnoticed in the forums! Buried in long lists which no one of the few remaining forum regulars understands or probably even reads (myself only a few seconds-glance, not understanding either). But amazingly even over at msfn no one seems to comment either on interesting details, despite some experts hanging around there.
I think it would be interesting for clueless users to have a few highlights of those regular lists pointed out and explained a bit their impact, but then again hardly worth it here, considering the forum is almost empty anyway.

So just a big THANK YOU for maintaining K-Meleon with this endless stream of impressive fixes and stuff!
And also to the devs of the upstream browers who are creating most of those fixes and stuff!

It is a good browser, but...PM has dropped support for XP.
Then maybe could use that was implemented in New Moon (Pale Moon fork for Windows XP).

To be clear, I don't create a fork of Pale Moon, instead, I build official Pale-Moon source from their git repo with my(and also Feodor2's) small patch set.

I'll support Pale as the Moon. The browser does not develop, Dorian abandoned it, it does not appear on the forum. The browser does not meet the challenges of the time. Please update the browser - it's not a whim - it's a must. If Dorian continues to ignore the fans of the browser, he (the browser) will die.
The code is in https://sourceforge.net/projects/kmeleon/ for anyone who wants to make a fork. smiling smiley

Actually I don't know how to build KM in hg repo, who can gimme some hints?

Advance Notice: you should update all kplugins in next version since nsIDOMWindow/nsPIDOMWindow objects were changed.
I hope k-meleon goanna have tampermonkey or greasymonkey plugin

telemetry changes and serviceworker are both ineffective.

telemetry main code is already nuked in mypal's tele.patch.
serviceworker is guarded by a disabled pref.

and they're imported for patch completeness.
and also importing Arctic-Fox changes happened since last year as they're trying to import mozilla upstream changes in order to update their code base.

@roytam1 - I assume the kplugins have been fixed since a long time ago smiling smiley

Please can you let us know on the relevant weekly update whether we can simply drop the new k-meleon.exe into our existing install, or if we need to drop any other files as well. Sometimes it is a pain to rebuild our configurations sad smiley

Can I just drop this 20190810 k-meleon.exe into my 20190525 build, or do I need more?

Oh... thinking about, that should be possible to tell by comparing dates? So did a quick check in a new unzipped build, how it looks when sorting ALL files by date... and discovering: updating seems much simpler than thought all this time!! Boah... Newer as last half year are only
  • files in the root folder (to my knowledge all those files from the 7z are never changed by users after install, or are they? New ones added perhaps, rarely, but not the native ones changed? Except perhaps OMNI.ja, but never automatically, only manually tweaked by users who should be clever enough to keep a backup of those changes)...
  • and files in the kplugins folder (native kplugins are never changed by users either, at most in rare cases an additional one added, but those are not in the 7z and not endangered of losing)....
  • and the gmp-folders (suppose the same??)

Aside from those, found there was just rarely a native macro with a younger date, no other files changed in the last half year! Not even the second omni.ja, in the browser folder (which might be tinkered with manually by rare users, e.g. to init useragents for sites in old KM7x, but if you never edited omni.ja manually just ignore this)
And those few single files, if any, can easily be copied over too.
With native macros there may exist a tiny chance a user tinkered with, but again, those who do this are extremely rare and should know to keep a copy of their changes. Otherwise, users only ADD new macros, which are no prob: not contained in new 7z builds, no danger of losing.
Update: AARGH - almost forgot: the config files are a prob sad smiley Especially toolbars.cfg (eternal prob, should never have been deleted in the skin folders), and a few users might have tweaked menus.cfg or accel.cfg, or perhaps other files => Be careful with files outside the root/kplugins/gmp folders!

Could it really be that easy? And how reliable are those file dates??
Can't believe in all the recent "HowTo Update KM" topics we never thought of this most obvious method!
For me I forgot it mostly because the files inside the omni.ja have all the same date since some years, to make it impossible to find any changed files inside there, a huge PITA ever since. And also I can't use the new builds myself, so still used to the much heavier changes between KM-versions in the past, not weeks but months or years apart.

telemetry changes and serviceworker are both ineffective.

telemetry main code is already nuked in mypal's tele.patch.
serviceworker is guarded by a disabled pref.

and they're imported for patch completeness.
and also importing Arctic-Fox changes happened since last year as they're trying to import mozilla upstream changes in order to update their code base.

IMO very important background info, thank you!
It should be added somewhere for interested users to find, perhaps in 1st post?
Just to be sure to understand this one right:
> serviceworker is guarded by a disabled pref
Does it mean users can toggle that pref and then it starts working?

yes, but IIRC serviceworker is not completed in current state, something unexpected may happen if it is turned on.

it should be in your profile folder. if you didn't delete profile.ini in KM's folder, your profile will be in {KM 's folder}\Profile\{unique string}\startupCache

There is something different with this release. I do not know since which release it started, but it is definitely different from https://github.com/roytam1/kmeleon/releases/tag/v76g-20180825. This release does render differently the page TiddlyWiki.com. Using the previous version makes this clear. Maybe there's something there that needs some changing?

I hope this helps to narrow it down: build 20190824 rendered TiddlyWiki.com correctly.
