Mozilla 1.7.13 has just been released.
I have updated to the new standard and uploaded

K-Meleon 0.9.13 ReleaseCandidate.

Gecko april 14th 2006.
I propose it to replace my 0.9.12 as the current official version.
It is basically the same as before but security is improved.
I have added AdBlock and NoScript as they were introduced
in the plus8 versions.
Read the readme.html file.

Ok folks, I\'ve just completed and uploaded a new version of K-Ninja Samurai, this one is v1.0.2. The main thing with this version is it now incorporates better Web Search choices, including as per Foster\'s request (see above in this thread), MultiSearch. MultiSearch delivers search results via six popular search engines, in six different layers. The search engines I\'ve included for MultiSearch include Google (100 results per page), MSN, All The Web, Google Images, Ask.com & Gigablast. Apart from the Web Search enhancements this release also tidies up a few minor issues that were present with v1.0.1.

This release is still based on GRE v1.7.13 final (the same as v1.0.1). Because of this if you\'re one of those \"bleeding edge\" users who installed one of the newer GRE updates onto v1.0.1, then I\'d recommend uninstalling v1.0.1 first (your profiles will not be touched by the uninstaller), install v1.0.2, and then before running it then install your favourite GRE update afterwards. If however you just installed v1.0.1 but didn\'t install any GRE updates, you should be sweet to just install v1.0.2 straight over the top.

He vuelto a sacar un nuevo K-Meleon en español.

Esta compilación está estructurada sobre la versión 0’9'13 oficial, de la cual se diferencia en lo siguiente:

- Traducción casi total del programa (Kmeleon.exe, SetDefault.exe, Menus.cfg, Macros.cfg y varios Kplugins incluidos) al español.

- Eliminación del botón Java y el editor de tipos MIME.

- Sustitución y traducción de la herramienta de recarga automática de páginas original por la versión modificada experimentalmente por KKO.

- Posibilidad de abrir enlaces multimedia directamente en el Windows Media Player (WMP) usando el botón derecho del ratón sobre cualquier enlace. Esto resultará útil a aquellos usuarios que tengan como reproductor multimedia predefinido uno diferente al WMP y que no sea capaz de abrir este tipo de enlaces (por ejemplo el Winamp).

- Modificación del archivo “Accel.cfg” para que al pulsar sobre un enlace con el botón medio del ratón (el de la rueda) este se abra en una capa detrás (en segundo plano) y no en una capa nueva (en primer plano).

- Modificación del archivo “Prefs.js”, de configuración general, introduciendo cambios tales como el uso del Google español en lugar del internacional, la activación de la opción de búsqueda automática, y otras variaciones de menor importancia como el uso del skin “Klassic” sobre un fondo verde o la modificación del throbber por uno más parecido a un camaleón y menos a un dinosaurio lanzallamas.

K-Ninja Samurai v1.1

As promised K-Ninja Samurai v1.1 has now been released.

Notable changes:
* Rendering Engine is now Gecko v1.7.13 nightly 20060706 (6th July 2006)
* STP Mp3 player now updated to newer version
+ Some more annoyances/bugs squashed thanks to K-Ninja user feedback in the K-Ninja Talk! forums.

GRE Updates will of course continue on a semi-regular basis, plus periodically the GRE for future versions will be updated as deemed necessary.

As per the usual testing phases, K-Ninja v2.1 beta is now available for downloading. Just a couple of minor bugfixes, plus a new updated GRE, this is based on v1.8.1.2pre (20070118): 18th Jan. 2007.

K-Ninja v2.1.1 now available...

K-Ninja v2.1.1...

K-Ninja v2.1.1 is now available for those interested in upgrading. This release includes a couple of minor fixes plus a new GRE update.

* Fix for K-Ninja not being set as default browser (although selected) during installation.
* Fix for QuickNote loading non-existent startup text files.
* Rendering Engine update: Seamonkey v1.1 / Gecko v1.8.1.2pre (20070215) ~ 15th Feb. 2007.

So there you have it. If you're happy with your existing K-Ninja v2.1 there's no rush, however it is there for anyone interested in keeping things as up to date as possible. As it's been a week since v2.1 came out then there's a whole week's worth of bugfixes and improvements in the GRE courtesy of the SeaMonkey boys and girls.

K-Ninja v2.1.3 alpha now available...

Hey guys,

Busy times here at headbanging-sasquatches.com, and with that in mind I have now uploaded the latest "testing" version of K-Ninja, this one is the alpha version of K-Ninja v2.1.3.

A quick overview of expected changes includes:

* New GRE (Gecko Rendering Engine) version: v1.8.1.3pre

Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.1.3pre) Gecko/20070314 K-Ninja/2.1.3

* Reworked Useragent options. The useragent menu has now been updated to the latest browser versions.

* New look about: page, plus all relevant links have been updated to the new K-Ninja url.

I would recommend before installing to uninstall any previous version(s) of K-Ninja you may have (to avoid any profile conflicts etc), plus if you want to seriously test this version, create a new profile by going to compact menu -> Edit -> Manage Profiles...

This way you will see any new menu items which have been created/updated for this version. Before reporting back bugs I'd suggest that this is done prior to testing (hint hint).

Anyway that's it for now, test away and most importantly let me know of any bugs/problems which may arise.

* Updated STP MP3 Player to v1.1.7.0

* Added in toolbar button for Bookmarks Sidebar. The button appears by default on the right hand side of the URL bar. It can of course be toggled on and off via compact menu: View -> Toolbars -> Bookmarks Sidebar Button.

* Knocked 20kbs off of the total download size for K-Ninja. It just keeps getting leaner.

Bug reports will only be treated as high priority if you have followed the above procedure.

End of another week approaching and definately time to wrap up the beta testing phases and present the newest addition to the K-Ninja family, v2.1.3 final.

Fairly happy with the way things went this time, and the opportunity was presented to address a couple of long standing issues, plus throw in a couple of new features as well.

What's new in v2.1.3 final you ask? Glad you did...

* New GRE (Gecko Rendering Engine) update: Seamonkey v1.1.1 / Gecko v1.8.1.4pre (20070404) ~ 4th April 2007

Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.1.4pre) Gecko/20070404 K-Ninja/2.1.3

* Removed troublesome (and redundant) Keyword Autosearch. Option for keyword autosearching has always been inherent in K-Ninja after selecting a search engine from the Search button drop-down list (ie. right-click on button, select default search engine). Once this is done highlighting a keyword on a webpage and pressing search button will automatically search for that term. To please the fans of the old Keyword Autosearch I have added the Google search options into the menu.

Add to that the previous additions listed in the alpha/betas of v2.1.3:

* Reworked Useragent options. The useragent menu has now been updated to the latest browser versions of Internet Explorer, Firefox, Netscape & Opera web browsers.

* New look about: page, plus all relevant links have been updated to the new K-Ninja url: http://www.headbanging-sasquatches.com

* Updated STP MP3 Player to v1.1.7.0

* Cache loads into memory now, nothing is written to disk.

* A couple of small bugs squashed.

All in all this makes v2.1.3 a very worthwhile upgrade for all K-Ninja users. The usual caveat applies...

"Quick note for a pain free install and test. Firstly uninstall any previous alpha/beta version you may have, then install the latest version. Then start up K-Ninja, goto Compact menu: Edit -> Manage Profiles... and create a new profile. Then restart K-Ninja and use the new profile to use the latest version. If you have done this and do indeed experience any problems, then feel free to report them here in the Headbanging Sasquatches forum."

K-Ninja v2.1.3 + WiNE is also available for those Linux users to download and use. It can be found on the downloads page along with the regular K-Ninja v2.1.3 by following the image link below:

One final note. Because this version is based on the pre-liminary version of Gecko v1.8.1.4, then I will base K-Ninja v2.1.4 on the final release of that particular Gecko version.

Final round of theme updates to come to make all K-Ninja themes compatible with v2.1.3, so keep an eye on the Themes page for updates.

I have uploaded to Rapidshare a new updated no-Xul version :
K-Meleon-NX-1814 .
This is a simplified version of K-Meleon 1.x ,
usable in Linux together with wine , or also in Windows,
updated to Mozilla 1.8.1.4 using Gecko/20070511,
from Seamonkey 1.1.2.
Look and feel are similar to the earlier 0.9 versions.
The NX No-chrome concept is used here. Thanks to Hao Jiang and Dorian.
Java is now enabled thanks to Guenter.
The browser is very fast, because Xul is not used.
Note : Flashblock, Aggreg8 and other extensions are not included in this
no-chrome version. No autocomplete as it causes problems in Linux.
Ad-blocking by userContent.css and hostperm.1 .
Many useful search engines have been added.
The profiles folder will be created inside the K-Meleon main folder.
If, when in Linux, you want this folder inside the wine configuration directory because of property rights problems, rename the file profile.ini
inside the K-Meleon main folder to for example profile.ini-renamed
before the first start.
Note :
This version works only if you have the files mfc71.dll,msvcp71.dll
and msvcr71.dll in your system or in your K-Meleon folder.

These are modified 1.x versions, based on Mozilla 1.8.1.4 ,
Gecko date 20070511,
that can be burned to CD, to be used from a CD drive,
or from any other drive.
Nothing will be written on a computer, that you use,where you have no
writing rights, and only reading access is allowed.
Unzip the file and burn it on a CD.
Usable in Windows, but also in Linux with the wine emulator.
No history view and no bookmarks saving possible, because of read only functions.
Javascript button for blocking and allowing javascript.
Reload the page after changing.
The menu is in the button Preferences (right click),and in the shortcut
Alt + X (this not in the kiosk version).
To reach an existing bookmarks file on a floppy
or elsewhere, or a start page somewhere on the computer
or the web, enter the path to them in Tools/Hotkeys,
to reach them as a web file using a shortcut
Ctrl + number 1 to 0.
For easy keyboard navigation, use :
Ctrl(right)+arrow left for going back one page.

This version uses a no-xul chrome, which makes it fast, but does

I have uploaded to Rapidshare a new updated unofficial no-Xul version :
K-Meleon-NX-18112 .
This is a simplified version of K-Meleon 1.x ,
usable in Linux together with wine , or also in Windows,
updated to Mozilla 1.8.1.12 using Gecko/20080201,
from Seamonkey 1.1.8.
Look and feel are similar to the earlier 0.9 versions.
The NX No-chrome concept is used here. Thanks to Hao Jiang and Dorian.
The browser is very fast, because Xul is not used.
Note : Flashblock, Aggreg8 and other extensions are not included in this
no-chrome version. No autocomplete as it causes problems in Linux.
Ad-blocking by userContent.css and hostperm.1 .
Many useful search engines have been added, also some that were missing
in earlier versions.
The profiles folder will be created inside the K-Meleon main folder by default.
If, when in Linux, you want this folder inside the wine configuration directory
because of property rights problems, rename the file profile.ini
inside the K-Meleon main folder to for example profile.ini-renamed
before the first start.
Note :
This version works only if you have the files msvcp71.dll
and msvcr71.dll in your system or in your K-Meleon folder.
If you want to use Internet Explorer Favorites, mfc71.dll
would also be necessary.
If you need these dll's, look for them in the internet .
If necessary in Linux, copy the files manually to the K-Meleon main folder.
