Quotesami I don't have enough knowledge to get WOT to work with K-Meleon, but would love to have a WOT extension for K-Meleon--or if anyone has clear instructions how to get the Firefox XPI to work, I will try it and report back here--Thanks all, Sami why are you posting here, Sami? this is NOT the thread to do this if you are talking about the WOT addon instead of the NoScript addon. go

tested the latest KM-SM2 and it's pretty good. too bad the Ctrl+T hotkey combination does not work when trying to open new tabs in KM-SM2 variation which other browsers like FF/SM/Opera/IE/Chrome/Safari have. can you try to implement the Ctrl+T command in the next release of KM-SM2, Fred?

Quotefoobarly To Fred and @ll: Now that Seamonkey 2.0 has a release candidate, I tried again to replicate the procedure indicated last June 1st (above) -- this time using a freshly downloaded K-Meleon-SM2a3 package (from XTHost) and the latest "SeaMonkey Setup 2.0 RC 1.exe" (from www.seamonkey-project.org), extracted with the latest Universal Extractor -- but unfortunately got exactl

the "wine" solution for running KM in linux is a cheap one. it's more preferrable running browsers like Chrome 4.0/Firefox/SM/Opera on a "native" linux OS without the use of wine. obsolesence is almost knocking on KM's door now that Seamonkey 2.0 (based on the gecko 1.9.1.x engine) is at RC1 phase and the final version of SM 2.0 will be due out next week. no mor

wow. at least KM 1.5.3 runs okay on my XP SP3 home edition laptop (Pentium M 1.3Ghz CPU, 512Mb of RAM, 30Gb hard drive). I almost never had any problems with Kmeleon except for the now outdated Gecko 1.8.1.x engine. I may have to consider dumping KM by the end of this year since Seamonkey 2.0 has recently reached RC1 status and the final release of SM 2.0 will be out next week which will l

Quotesiria Yep, definitely compatible 8) There are two exe-files in the program folder, one for 9x and one for modern systems. I'm not quite sure about the vulnerabilities with Gecko 1.8.x, since I keep reading here it's outdated too, the current is 1.9.x? Just for the record, Firefox 3.5.2 runs also nicely on Win9x, if one has kernelex installed! Really nifty 200 kB proggie tha

I will say that K-meleon won't become obsolete when it will inevitably use the more modern gecko engine. I know the creators of Seamonkey 2.0 will release a final version of that in late October 2009, which will leave K-meleon the only mozilla based browser left with the outdated gecko 1.8.1.x engine. Sure, Hao Jiang's KmeleonCCF ME 0.09x builds that have the gecko 1.9.1.x engine

newest versions of the Adobe Flash 9 and 10 players are versions 9.0.246.0 and 10.0.32.18. be sure you are using either one of these latest versions of Flash Player to protect yourselves from the recent security vulnerabilities. Fred, Adobe Flash Player 10 can also be installed under Win2000; read the Flash Player 10 system requirements carefully next time. Flash 10 requires minimum Win2k bu

Quotebksening In fact, I am very impatient for an official alpha/beta of KM based on Gecko 1.9.1. KM has languished using old Gecko 1.8.1 far too long. well why don't you contact Dorian, desga2 or guenter privately and tell them your concerns about when an official alpha/beta of a Gecko 1.9.1x based KM will be available? otherwise, go try out Hao Jiang's KMCCF ME 0.096 browser which

KmeleonCCF ME 0.096 worked okay on my XP desktop computer. I'll have to try it out on my mom's Vista laptop. KmeleonCCF ME 0.096 still does not work with FTP sites, only HTTP sites. Has Hao figured out why FTP sites like ftp.mozilla.org, ftp.netscape.com, ftp.microsoft.com, etc. can't be viewed in K-meleonCCF ME 0.09x?

QuoteKen When you say Gecko 1.9.1, are you referring to Gecko SDK (which has been renamed to XULRunner SDK)? Where can I get Gecko 1.9.1? I am also trying to build K-Meleon using MSVC8.0 (VS 2005). Would you also post the link to the K-Meleon source tarball that can be built with MSVC8.0. Thank you. Ken hi Ken. A candidate build of XULRunner 1.9.1 has been released late last wee

Quotedisrupted i never used hibernation so don't know how stable/unstable it makes your system but i did read in many forums that it can be quite problematic. WELL I DO USE HIBERNATION, disrupted! I will challenge anyone who doesn't like the hibernation feature on either their desktop or laptop machine. The hibernation APM feature on my XP desktop and laptop computers worked VERY

I have not experienced any major problems with K-meleon 1.5.3 AND I am using WinXP Home Edition with SP3. no crashes so far with KM 1.5.3 either (plus I have IE8, SM 1.1.17, Netscape 9, Opera 9.64, Safari 3.23 and FF 3.0.11 browsers installed and those browsers worked well). corrupted KM user profile? messed up plugins or addons for KM, perhaps? maybe Mr. Very Confused should install XP fro

Quotendebord Quoteguenter Quotendebord Sounds like we will need bug fixes for all 3 versions currently in use. http://kmeleonbrowser.org/forum/read.php?8,87103,91013,page=2#msg-91013 bottom 1.5.3 update includes engine rv:1.8.1.21 at the moment. I personally HATE the new Yahoo Mail interface as it takes up a lot of system resources on my computers. I've set YM to use the old Yahoo Mail classic UI as it puts less stress on all the web browsers I have installed on my machines.

Quotedesga2 If there is a Thunderbird 2 with 2.0.0.21 engine and there is expected a 2.0.0.22 version with updates to Gecko 1.8.1 engine must exist a way to port Thunderbird 2 engine versions 2.0.0.21 and 22 to Firefox engine. desga2, Thunderbird 2.0.0.21 is available here.

Firefox 2.0.0.20 was released. https://developer.mozilla.org/devnews/index.php/2008/12/18/firefox-20020-now-available-for-download/ apparently, Mozilla found another security flaw in Firefox 2.0.0.19 on the Windows platform so they decided to fix it right away. Release notes of FF 2.0.0.20 posted here: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/2.0.0.20/releasenotes/

Perhaps the next release of K-meleon should be delayed to incorporate the Gecko engine from FF 2.0.0.19/SM 1.1.14.
