QuoteJamesD 1. In the KM macrolanguage under Special Global Variables, I would like two new items. The first would be $WindowID and the second would be $TabID. I don't care if they are integer or string. They would have a unique value for the tab and window in focus and be read only. 2. If the macrolanguage could have a sort of array system for variable names, some things could be co

Quotephenix This one is interesting and very annoying. My virus program, ESET SS, is set for a two way stop of incoming and outgoing garbage. Here is the messgage it produced when I signed on this morning: application: windows media player network sharing service publisher: unknown remote computer: FreeStaffWorld.com (127.0.0.1) remote port; tcp 2869(icslap) So di

Basically I support that guideline strongly too, it makes a lot of sense and is important to avoid bugs. So if a macro is meant for direct use in menus or buttons, I usually make sure to have its name starting with the kmm-name too. But there's a limit, I just feel that it can get "too much", regarding readability of a code. At some point it starts getting too confusing and all the

Whow, great research! Just as a little sidenote, in case a user may think the site were *completely* unusuable: No crash here, but of course I have javascript blocked (and don't feel suicidal enough to allow it on such a crappy site, LOL!) Of course that means, there are some functions which will not work without JS.

QuotedeadlockInspired by 49 occurrences of the term "privilege" in 56 lines of troubleshooting.kmm. Good point Of course curious me had to take a look now too - and the replace function really announced 51 hits! Yes, it's quite impressive

The macro isn't meant for configuration of priviliges, nor anything else, and it couldn't. The sole purpose was to help people when they have trouble, to easier do a quick test if they have writing rights or not  It think too a troubleshooting.kmm is a great idea, and it could be expanded over time Better yet of course, if it could actually fix missing rights and such, but guess

No I'm not really using it, just played a bit with it when it was posted. That was half a year ago, don't really remember much ;-) Had took a few little notes, specifically it had some bug with javascript macros, which could be worked-around when throwing out "gzip" in that pref: network.http.accept-encoding gzip, deflate But suppose that was in the other thread too.

Ctrl+G works fine for me in 1.6b2, no prob. No additional Enter needed. That ...howST macro also works fine. No idea why, perhaps it's influenced by some other setting??

Just days ago gordon posted something about "elevated administrative rights" in newer systems (was in Feebies Thread). That got me curious and went to google a bit, and that stuff is really quite interesting! I feel it's really one of the main probs in KM, that it simply doesn't do anything, if a user is missing writing rights. Nothing. Eventually the user notices his configu

As for the workaround mentioned above in blue, there are several possibilities to add it. All are simple and work, but which is 'best' for a certain user depends on his writing rights on the own machine (man, how things were so much easier back in the good old win98 times ) ________________________________________ Version-1 (most simple?): Open browser, click Edit > Configuration

Oops... sorry for the trouble KM isn't so complicated really, there's just this kinda stupid bug: If you don't close KM manually, but instead have the operating system close it automatically when shutting down, the browser thinks next time it had been crashed! (Not sure if that's only in the new beta version or also in KM154 already. Anyway, someone (deadlock?) found the

You can add own user agents. The two default ones are here: ..programs.../K-Meleon/defaults/prefs/I10n.js Make a copy of that file, name it "myuseragents.js" (or whatever you like), then open it with notepad, and throw out everything except the two user agents. Take them as example for more ones. Just copy/paste and adjust the new ones as you wish. Important: The number sequence mu

QuoteguenterNo K-Meleon does not. It is old fashioned and expects that users do not install rubbish. LOL! That was evil Anyway, I remembered something I had learned about plugin toggling last winter, incidentally found by yourself yeah I know from myself, often learning something new and awhile later it's gone poof again... only after second or third reminder can remember it more reliab

Uh, James, take it slowly with that one... Consider the date (a few days sure don't matter after years), the already given solutions, the suspicious one-fits-all sentence of the last reply (which managed to find a fitting quote, yet missed that there WERE already given some hands).... that the requestor never bothered to read the very detailed answers or drop a word about them... and I guess

The system is different, so FF addons can't be used without conversion. That can sometimes be simple and other times near impossible - or so I've read around here (personally have no clue about conversion, being just a simple user, although dabbling with building own macros). For K-Meleon, 'addons' are called extensions or macros, they are nearly all user-submitted and can

Yep, the config placement is certainly a lot better But I understood it first as a demo macro, how delpref etc. works. Now if it's for actual use, perhaps one simple toggle macro would be better, instead of a multi-choice popup menu? Thinking about it again, and being a serious paranoia freak (on the web), but not sure why hide a default entry that seems to always simply be 000000?

Yeah, after 4 weeks without a single download, all files are automatically deleted at datafilehost Most of my macros have vanished that way, but can't find another file hoster with 1) a longer time span and 2) no huge, unbearable ads and 3) a download COUNTER  Some of the macros I have re-uploaded, others I was too lazy yet to re-upload (guess no one really needs it anyway), and

It works?! Fine  If you think that the old js toggle has a bug, try if it works after removing &PrivacySync from the toggle. When I took a look into my ancient macros.cfg I noticed surprised that it uses "setcheck" for the priv-macros, but IIRC had tried that awhile ago and found it doesn't work for macros, then had suspected it's probably meant for ID-commands on

Again, it works in 16b2 (for other configurations than yours). Another little test, check if this works: - Allow javascript - Make sure in F2 that your setting for "Typed URLs" is to open in the CURRENT page - Paste this line and hit enter: javascript: function kmbody(){var body;var num = 0; var cuantos; body = document.getElementsByTagName('*'); cuantos = document.get

Hey, cool video! No idea how you managed that, never happened to me. Perhaps the special characters somehow? Not really, if enter wasn't pressed, huh? But it's known that there are some bugs with urlbar in 1.6beta. Just not such spectacular crashes live on video, LOL! PS: deadlock figured out just days ago that in certain cases it's due to huge history files. QuoteJohnHellOld

Uah, thanks but it's 300 lines of sophisticated code to learn *scared* ;-) Yeah I know, my own macros are often yet longer, but the self-invented stuff is by nature always easier to understand And have already an own javascript-solution for sorting, needing less code, although it needs hashing up the list into max 127-character puzzle pieces, but oh well. Anyway, regarding policy-manag

Oh my, that's just way too long and complicated to discuss everything... But I guess the main problem is just that you insist on using stoneage macros.cfg for all eternity, struggling for hundreds of hours and getting a hundred gray hears, instead of finally giving in and spending some ten hours in transfering your macros.cfg into a JohnHell.kmm file Oh well. Lets still see some of th

QuoteJohnHellthis macro IS NOT SITE SPECIFIC. Obviously. There's no URL in it. So it works on all tested non-frame pages for me. Just simply the injectJS line, no tricks, no JS-toggle needed. Not sure though if your 5-year-outdated toggles still are supported a couple versions later. Or if error console also finds macro errors in macro-legacy-mode? It works quite well to find probs in the

Wow James, what a quick service again (as usual) (only wondering a bit why you split buildmenu even for such easy menus? Habit?)
