UA: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:38.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/38.0 K-Meleon/76.0 "rv:38.0" in the brackets refers to Win7 x64, the OS I'm actually using.

Nope. The items in the bracket are referring to the OS. - Example - UA: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:38.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/38.0 K-Meleon/76.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:38.0) = OS Gecko/20100101 Firefox/38.0 K-Meleon/76.0 = client/browser

In the above UA, "rv:38.0" refers to the OS and can be real. "Ikarus/80 Ikarus/80.0" is a fantasy part of the UA. There is no such based client. It is preferable to use (only if necessary) UAs of Gecko based browsers for Gecko based browsers like KM. It's harder to detect as a fake. If a site makes use of techniques not implemented in the user's browser, a fa

Quotesiria But I thought Dorian had meanwhile included (additionally?) another basic tool with updated french lists. < Filter Rules collected by Fred (taken from K-Meleon 0.9.12) > IMHO just a waste of time. I prefer a hosts file I don't have to babysit and that works systemwide. It's not perfect (you might need to disable it temporary to watch some content) but it's

I did misuse the button for ImageAnimation since I was too lazy to make a new one. Otherwise it seems to work. screenshot

OK, I'll upload both, the test-skin and main.kmm in the Graphics forum since I don't see any option for attachemets here.

AdBlock{ macros(KM_ToggleAdblock) Block Ads privhot.png[1] privcold.png[1] } I didn't made any change to main.kmm. You can simply test with my mod Klassic skin. For testing I've only replaced the lines for ImageAnimation keeping the icons (png). Of course, I could upload the test-skin as well if you wish so.

Sorry if my question sounds naive. Are you referring to the build-in css ad-blocking? - I'm asking since I've never used it and I don't know how it performs. - I'm also asking because it seems to work on this simple test. I did test with an icon (png) on my privacy-bar and the icon is changing showing the status. (the status-bar also shows "CSS Ad-Blocking enabled/dis

Quotesiria Just yesterday even a longtime user left KM mainly because of this!! Let me disagree on this. I asked that longtime user if he knows how to change the UserAgent and he responded with "yes". Blaming Dorian or whomever else would be unfair to say the least. Quotesiria On the other hand it would be quite easy to simply copy over the old macro manually from KM1.5.4, excep

@whatamess Personl frustration isn't an excuse to make out of your first post a huge rant. This applies to any existing forum worldwide. If you have questions or if you encounter problems with K-Meleon you can always ask for help in a mannered tone. Otherwise you can always switch to another browser with a forum where ranting is welcomed. Also make sure that you post in the right forum

@Rodocop Only a minor marginal note - speaking of privacy, wouldn't "proxy.socks_remote_dns" set tu true by default, be more appropriate since it is one of the main advantages of SOCKS 5 over SOCKS 4.

I admit that removing the useragent.kmm file wasn't a good idea of Dorian, especially if the browser doesn't get updates for such a long time. However, with useragent.kmm and UserAgent.js, changing the UA in KM76 works like a charm. I asked KMfan2 if he knows how to modify the UA. He answered with "yes" and I assume that in his native language "yes" doesn'

QuotesiriaAm going to make a tiny test macro that pops up the UA as alert automatically... If addressed correctly from the beginning, KMfan2's problem would have been simple to solve and we wouldn't witness this long thread. As it turns out he gets a blank page when accessing that page. This has nothing to do with log-in. The only reason he gets the blank page is because of the badl

So it's not about log-in, you can't even access the site (blank page). I miss in your screenshot the window where your UserAgent gets displayed! (important)

Could you please provide a screenshot (like mine) of your fresh installed KM76 after accessing the site? (http://bet.forumfree.it/) I assume that you can access the site since you told us that you only can't log-in.

The address shown in your screenshot (http://bet.forumfree.it/) is not identical with what you posted in your first post ( https://accounts.forumfree.it/?act=Login&cid=768311) During troubleshooting it is always important to give accurate informations. This time I logged in from the address shown in your screenshot. You get a warning with KM because of a certificate mismatch but if you pre

Both JohnHell and I logged in successfully more than once. Something on your side hinders the log-in. Telling us only that it doesn't work is a cryptical statement. There are more chances to get help if you tell us exactly move by move what doesn't work. (empty page instead of log-in page or whatever else) I'd recommend for a start: - Make a new portable install of KM76 to a

Tested with KM76RC2 on Win7 - In order to get the login-page you must change the default UA to a newer one. Mine was Firefox 52. - Temporary mails get blocked and you get the message that the mail address you entered is invalid. Mine was also a temporary mail address but one that didn't made it to their blocklist yet. Time for them to update their blocklist. - The log-in was painless.

Speaking of the benefits of the Goanna engine - an excerpt from an older article which still applies as of today: QuoteFossaMail/Pale Moon uses the Goanna rendering engine, a old frozen fork of the Gecko rendering engine used by Thunderbird/Firefox/SeaMonkey. Thunderbird (as of January 28, 2016) is currently at version 38.5.1 while Goanna is using the equivalent of Thunderbird 24 so it is behi

QuotesiriaDifferent people mean "portable" in differently "strict" ways. That's right. However, irrespective from what different people mean by "portable", there is only one correct definition of the term. "Portable" means that the software can be ported to an external device (e.g. pen drive) by keeping all its functionality and settings. Idea

Quotesmallhagrid A very long time ago (in computer terms, certainly...) I realized that a full 99% of all 'updates' in the windows realm ONLY serve other's purposes - and not my own. 99%? I wouldn't exchange my Win7 with Win96. There are relatively rare cases when I prefer to keep the old version of a software instead of the new one. Even in such cases I'll have to t

QuoteannieNot a peep out of my anti-virus and anti-malware programs. Sigh. For detection an anti-virus needs definitions for the respective malware. Heuristics are not reliable and prone to false positives.
