Thanks JamesD! By disabling layers.acceleration (enabled by default) did the trick. Now the SVG-file loads fast and renders fine in K-Meleon (tested only with KM76RC2). With newer Geckos the SVG-file loads fast and renders fine on the same OS (Win7) with layers.acceleration left with the default setting (enabled).
