No, not on the top level, at least not for me neither (98se). I must compare the dates on all 9 sub-forums manually, and try to remember when I last looked in, or first open all subforums to finally see the "new" marks *sigh* Which is really, really a pain, especially when being used a complete "new postings" or "active topics" list from other forums. One single page

Am not sure, on my win98 can't see favicons in the toolbar folder, but I do see the youtube-icon in the normal hotlist folder. perhaps click F2/GUI and look if at the right side both boxes for favicons are checked... And type "about:config" in the adress bar, then favicon in the filter line... BTW, which gecko-version do you have? (Help/About) Another setting that may have inf

Oops, odd... Perhaps it's only shown in about:config if there was first a setting in F2? Anyway, glad for "Just Me" that things work better now :-))

Which pictures do you mean with "dead"? (okay, am too lazy to search myself ) To get back from a translation I usually go into the adress line and delete manually the beginning part, with the google-stuff. Yeah, could be easier, and there's a little macro somewhere to strip such stuff automatically from links, just where exactly... ;-) On the other hand, your english seems perfe

Seriously, there was hardly any day lately (when playing with my browser skin or reading this website), that I didn't learn a cool new trick, or two or three Mostly quite simple things, well-known to more experienced users, but a happy surprise for clueless me E.g. this tab-handling, that they can be dragged around to switch positions, can be double- or middle-clicked to close, and som

The following page fails to load completely : http://greenevillesun.com/story/302332 Crashes the computer - other programs can't take focus, can't shut down, 3 finger salute is only way out. Sigh, the settings for cookies and scripts are really rather shattered, and not all crosslinked to each other, it's not easy! Alain is right, and I suppose you didn't discover yet the two new and updated extensions (add-on) archives: http://kmext.sf.net (almost complete, install either by KEM-Manager or simply unzip, but descriptions mostly very short) and KMES http://extensio

Uhm, running a "bit" late, perhaps obsolete by now, but anyway... And not really any clue, just a few thoughts ;-) You said you have different drives, so simply run KM from the other for awhile, just for testing... And if it's a closing problem, there might help this new foolproof extension for making sure that really everything gets killed at the end: http://kmeleonbrowser.org/fo

Just curious - which button size do you prefer? Klassic and Phoenity are 16px, Phoenity-Large 24px, for others it's simply the height of the image-bands in the skin-folder. Example the ZOOMCOLD.bmp, but NOT the menu.bmp, because this is for the drop-down-menus and always small.

Hmm, that's really odd! No probs here at all. Default KM user agent, everything blocked on privbar except images and javascript, and it works. Right-click/Image/Save image as... (I'm on 98se) And those wallpapers are meant for downloading! Btw, they got me rather riddling now, because every image seemed to open only once! Until I realized, it is actually still open in a backgroun

Hey cool, I just played around with it too The bold formatting works perfectly! It only seems the background doesn't work on ALL pages, e.g. not in tables, so I replaced the "body" with "*" * { background-color: #FAE0C5 !important; font-weight: bold !important; } For the font type and size there are also some settings here: Edit / Preferences / Page Display

It's called mouse accelerators, the setting can be found under tools/Mouse accels (button between sessions and help). Many new users seem to be used to use the middle-click of firefox to open a link in a background tab, to get this, click tools/mouse accels/firefox. A list of the available settings, incl. default-K-Meleon and other browser settings (from tools): kmeleon.sf.net/docs/faq.ph

Quotedisruptedand download this macro, save it in macros folder http://kportal.clix5.com/siria/kmextsearch.kmm Uhm, don't know where I had my eyes when I first tried it, but actually it always searches only for the term "kmext"

Hi again, still looking for a way to add more infos to skin buttons... In some programs there is a very handy "?"-button which can be used to get help on other buttons, which are clicked afterwards. If it doesn't exist yet in KM, would there be a way to have this via a macro? No, am NOT talking of making one myself I figure there could either be a more "general" KM-

Have seen some threads about Yahoo, can't remember for sure what it was, but try again with the yahoo-classic version... There are tons of probs with yahoo, just do a forum-search on "yahoo". Some have been solved, IIRC have read somewhere lately they accept now default KM-user-agent, (before it had to be set to Firefox), but there are some specialists here who know much better

Quotedesga2you can do it with a macro, but really this implementation can help to do it more easy to people that made skins/themes including Extensions/macros buttons. Absolutely, that's the point. To put it short: I'm a simple end-user dabbling a bit with a skin, not a programmer ;-) To add buttons with a macro is surely the most professional thing, but a hundred times too diffi

There's a condition "%ifplugin xyz" that works in toolbars.cfg If it's not too much trouble it Would be nice to also have a "%ifmacro xyz" function Meanwhile there are countless more macros than plugins, and if each would bring it's own toolbar for a single button, it would get horribly confusing with all the countless new toolbars in the view list. So I'

Still not solved? Well, I still suspect strongly those *.* replacements are meant for a collection of separate files in a filemanager... Otherwise, wouldn't the second star mean "replace all the rest of the text", meaning the complete text...? desga's link says: \> This matches the end of a word using Scintilla's definition of words. $ This matches the end of

FaveRenAdd in 98se: Guess it must have something to do with the folderpaths, with the syntax of those double \\ or single \ or / or no idea. Working from (lousy) memory now, but first the macro didn't open the favorites folder, instead always root folder of disk (a,c,d,etc). After lots of trials and errors I figured out a way to put the path directly into the kmm, so when adding a favorite,

No reason to be sorry, I understand it's a very complicated job, programming, and additionally serving a bunch of horribly outdated operating systems sure doesnt make things easier. Not many people today care anymore about win98, so thanks go to you :-) That I stumbled upon this autoit-prob was mostly just luck, glad it helped Basically clueless, just picking up a little here and there, al

QuotemslayerI managed to do what I wanted using the Klassic Skin, I've edited its toolbar.cfg file, and now I have an smaller Privacy Bar. Glad it worked :-) So perhaps the privbar was just too big, and all buttons visible? Btw, I've been playing around with this thing a lot lately, and there's a little trick, if space is precious, and all those clear-buttons aren't needed too

*sigh* Thanks for all your trouble, but no, it works not. The really bad thing is, now I took a look at the versions of the two pseudoHSB.exe, and think I've got a heavy suspect: The old one that works is version 3.2 of autoit. The new one that does nothing except complain about missing userenv.dll in 98se, is version 3.3 of autoit. Just great, that means the newer version of that autoit-

The new pseudos still don't work, sorry, and this DLL is obviously included in later win-versions, but wasn't in 98 yet. Never mind, not that important for me... This Extensions-Search-macro is very nice, should IMO absolutely be included in future KM-versions! :-) Haven't tried yet KEM, postponing yet a little, uhm, and it seems to be under heavy construction yet...? Perhaps

I absolutely agree with the 1000 words for a picture , but with tons of extensions and macros existing (100-300??), growing daily, this would probably become a loooong, looooooong thread here ;-) So perhaps better to add them to the extensions archives and wikis, where they belong? Perso, I'd also find it nice to have a little screenshot in the zip, for later reference :-) Btw in Alains

Very interesting, thanx guys for clearing this up!! Must say, am a bit relieved ;-) May he stick with IE forever, although that would probably be too high hopes.
