Edit: (Sep.2010) KM1.5.x needs those two dll's, otherwise produces runtime errors at start: msvcp71.dll + msvcr71.dll Meanwhile I've learned that they are contained in the KM setup-version, but not in the zip version. The setup-version checks some windows configurations and modifies KM-files accordingly, e.g. deletes either the "k-meleon.exe" XP-version or the different &

Ah great, just had a bluescreen again because I just wanted to start Foxit to check the version  Even though it's the old version 2.2. that *officially* worked in win98! But my memory was at its limits already, so not really a surprise. Usually that thing works more or less, just very often tends to freeze, same as for snuz. So Sumatra is my main reader, although really extremely primit

Same as Guenter here. Great job disrupted! Especially seeing that YOU did not have that problem yourself, so such stuff is getting nearly impossible to figure out! Hardly without any help from those who have it but only complain and offend, instead of a bit testing. As far as I see everyone who comes here with strange problems that no one else can reproduce, is told to test with a new profile

Great, a user hits delete and then complains that his browser had a bug if it really deletes :-( How I love such people

QuotejsnjLOLOL...been there MANY times. LOL! Good to know I'm not the only one, and far more experienced people still have that little prob too Oh yes, the encoding, cannot count how many gray hairs that stuff has cost me already!! Who would have thought that a special character in a *comment* line would get KM choking?! Guess that was in a CSS file, but not sure anymore. Bad combination

So your buildmenu-macro is active, but not the BugMeNot-macro... Okay, now replace all "BugMeNot" occurances inside your own file to "BugMeNotMine", rename also the kmm file this way, and restart (still keep that alert line to check when that macro turns active)... Oh, BTW, do you occasionally check the Error Console...? And do you have an editor with kmm syntax hightligh

 I'm sure there IS a rational explanation for it  And from everything I read and from own struggles too I'm pretty sure there is no hidden "cache" for macros that would survive a browser restart, and certainly not a windows restart. Really, no matter how weird, when writing macros I quite often run into such situations, that things happen that are just NOT pos

I know the feeling But it really can't work Do an explorer search in your two macros folders, "BugMeNot{" must be contained also in another macro ;-)

No the second has nothing to do with lines. It just makes that when *locking* toolbars, the buttons stay exactly where they are, meaning there'll be a little empty space on the left side of each toolbars, where that drag-handle was. Without that setting, this little empty space will be on the right side of toolbars, all buttons moving a tiny little bit to the left ;-) At least that is what

QuoteJamesDCan confirm that "kmeleon.display.toolbars_line" has no effect. KM 1.6.0a4 on XP-SP3 Is my spelling of pref correct? Good idea... Okay, copy directly from my about:config: kmeleon.display.toolbars_line / Bool / false Hmm, can't find any typo, but it definitely works for me in KM154 and also in KM16a3+4. Am happily using this setting in my favorite skin. (Both KM

That's rather weird... So you added "kmeleon.display.toolbars_line", made it BOOL, set to "false", and you opened a new window to see the changed setting? But it still shows the lines?? Do you still have horizontal lines too? That's definitely not normal, and as you described above you have those thick dividers only on the right side? That's certainly not no

Funny, hiding the toolbar borders or such is so rarely asked, but now all of a sudden by 3 people almost at once! QuoteJackPots1. How do I configure the thickness of the toolbar border to zero (or transparent), so that it will look like this > http://kmeleon.sourceforge.net/wiki/?binary=internal%3A%2F%2Fd1b7d950cd2ce50853d6ef6d3b00af1e.jpeg which shows no border (or an invisible one)? LOL! Must admit I always get a huge grin when reading about your "hair extensions" for kmext! Anyway, I think I'm not the only one who's a bit confused about what exactly we're talking, because here we know "web search" and "find in page" as 2 different things, and it somehow sounds a bit mixed up, and in particular I'm not sure what you me

Yes, some more options there would be nice, but it's part of the gecko engine. Yet the above example is easy, just type .load and since "kmeleon.pugins." is the beginning, and columns are sorted alphabetically, the hits are all together What I will really have a problem with is gecko 1.9, there the filter shows not only matching pref names, but also if the filter word is o

Sometimes I'm looking here for K-Meleon prefs: http://kmeleon.sourceforge.net/wiki/NewPreferences Perhaps this could be added there too...? (by an expert not me  ;-)

Win98 does what it always did: It's working fine Still my main machine, but the hardware is getting older and older and can break down every day :-( But thats not interesting anyone and guess we should get back on topic KM in this thread ;-)

Rule No.1: Keep a backup copy of profile folder  Okay , I see you fuming, so a bit more constructive ;-) Look into the profile folder if by any chance there might be an automatic backup, one never knows.... You didnt happen to use that bookmarks file with 2 open browsers at once, or 2 open KM instances at once, did you...?

Just tested again the new AuraAlpha skin from KM 1.7alpha1 on my ancient win98se, copied over to KM 1.5.4: Although in the skin folder, when opened with an image program, all the backgrounds look black (perhaps my viewer setting?), the skin transparency has gotten much better now! Only exchanged the background, sorry, but that appaling gray is just too horrible for my color-loving gi

Hi Timtak, I'm a "she" and disrupted is a "he" As far as I know just about all other regular posters here in the last year are "he"s (and all that responded to your posts). But I wouldn't worry too much about "political correctness", just guess and wait if they clear it up if the guess was wrong  Try force-reloading, and if it doesn&#

Favicons are a known longtime bug unfortunately :-/ Recently I had a week long hard struggle with them too, and now have a very long macro again that I was temped to post as "Jumping Favicons" - because they just seem do the opposite of what they're told, when changing them manually it gets 100x times worse instead of better! What *often* seems to help is to force-reload a page

Hi Tim, welcome to our favorite browser, glad you like it too QuotetimtakIn Maxthon if you selected a piece of text and then drag it just a little, then the text is automatically sent to your search engine of choice. There's no "flicker" that I know of, but perhaps a "normal" mouse gesture suffices too...? Tools > Mouse Gestures > Manage actions > add c

QuotetimtakI am getting this too. Twitter's character counting (java?) script is probably the problem. There is no Tools>User Agent option. Since Twitter is so popular these days it is a shame that it is real tricky to use with K-Meleon. Sorry cannot help because I have no twitter account. In general it looks like most of such slow scripts work fine in the next KM version, KM1.6alph

Too weird :O Just curious, please tell if caktus tip was the key...? Frankly, never heard such a thing, and having dabbled with skins, hmm, it sounds like the image definitions got a bit mixed... You really 100% sure that you didn't change anything about skins, perhaps tried another version, edited toolbars.cfg with a new button, or tried a little macro you've quickly forgotten???

1.6a is still an alpha version, not even beta yet. It has a couple real flaws yet, so I would never trash the "normal" version yet! And why trash it, seeing that it's quite easy to install other versions in another folder, and make them portable, meaning they have their own profiles inside, independant, not messing the KM1.5 one in c:/users/ etc. Then those different installs ca

QuoteDorianThere is also a ... 1.7 version, with gecko 1.9.2 No typeahead for this one, since it changed. It uses js now, and I don't know how to make it works. I warn you, I only tested it for 5 mins or so. Certainly doesnt sound like it was even remotely meant for real use yet
