Hi, I just read some of the blogs about that recent McAfee desaster. That seems to have been enormous, and so are those blogs, so don't open in 1.53 on a machine with less than 512MB / 1.5Gig - better use one of the gecko 1.9 versions - and go to make yourself a cup while loading. You'll get a real big heap of anger and frustration for your patience. That reading might t

Hi, disrupted, Quotei think a properly set 1.2 cpu(clean and doesn't have lots of rubbish running) with adequate ram doesn't really need the loader. loader probably shines on 800mhz(single cpu) and lower. That's good info - thanks! Quotep.s. restart extension is very special to me (desga knows why) Well, I certainly didn't mean to hurt anybody's feelings. If I

Hi, disrupted, Quotethe restart extensions are like manually closing the browser and launching it again Isn't that true only for the "Super Restart"? I am using "Restart Plus", tweaked according to this thread, but that tweak is only needed to avoid the session PROMPT on restart, AFAICG. In F2, I have set a homepage, not the last session as my start page. In

Hi, siria, (btw, @ senna: the dude is a lady) thank you so much, I had silently hoped for such a thing since my first days with K-M. May I kindle your ambition a bit further? Give the user a way to configure a tab coiour per (sub)domain Give the user a way to define a variable in the page title, to show that variable's content in the customized tab title. example: shorten

Hi, penang, I have no idea about the first one, but about the software patents site: That is simply bad page design. Bad in the sense that it is disregarding even the most basic features of accessibility for folks with less-than-perfect eyesight. They should put up a sign near the top saying: "This page is best to be viewed on a resolution of 1440 x 900, with the minimum font s

Hi aussie-ian, Isn't that an Online Bookmarking Service? They probably have a way to save/backup/export your online bookmarks to a FILE on your PC. It's name doesn't matter - the suffix (.html) DOES. Should be in their FAQs. Else make a new post with "Xmarks" in its title here or with "hackup as html" in their forum. EDIT -------------------------

Hi, antonpaco, Go to your mainMenuItem -> Bookmarks, then -> Edit. In the window opening then, just type the first letters of the pages title (not its address). If this doesn't find it: clicks on the "+" signs open the folders - search that way for the site. There's a "help" button down left, too. Once you have found it: RightClick it, -> D

Hi, Siria, I understood he "had done it once", and I took that as meaning, he had done it successfully, giving him the collection of bookmarks he had had in Firefox. As he says he has a "bookmarks.html" file on his desktop, where he put it. I do assume this is a valid Netscape Bookmarks file. I think it is up to him to find out whether this is the w

You more likely than not have more than one - that is the second reason why I asked you to do a search. Still have the old ones in Firefox? Don't delete or uninstall. Check the size of the known bookmarks.html (rightClick file -> properties). If it is just around 3 kB, it may not be the one you exported anymore. IF your mainMenu -> bookmarks shows ANY items, (mainly K-M re

Hi, blobee, QuoteJamesD In the "View" menu there is an item called "Tabs" that, when clicked, will show a listing of your tabs with full names. The same should appear in the Tab's/Tabbar's context menu.

We do need even more information: What K-M version? What occured, K-M-related, between having them and losing them? (like SystemCrash (Bluescreen), upgrading, trying to make portable, trying to use IE or Opera favs? Editing menu.cfg?) Profile in UserAppData or in K-M -> Profiles? Are you dead sure you have one profile only? (Sytem wide search for "profiles.ini". Mind

Hi, rock22, so you haven't added any since the last time? Or, you have, but didn't dare to ask how to get your newer bookmarks back? If you have - find out if they are activated: Hit F2, -> K-Meleon Plugins: Netscape Bookmarks ticked? find out where the bookmarks.html file with the latest timestamp is (you can do a system wide search for that, if you like. Be sure to set

Hi, ceppy, I guess this can be influenced by the "typeaheadfind" settings. One way to try: type about:config in your URLbar, hit enter. Dismiss the warning. enter "typeaheadfind" in the filter bar. double click the line: accessibility.typeaheadfind.linksonly to change its value from true to false. Moreover, you may want to raise the value of the accessibili

Hi, caktus, that is nothing to be solved from the *.cfgs - been messin' 'round with the macros, lately? To me this looks like you're having surplus *.kmm files in your macro folder(s). Scenario 1: If you made backups of "search", "accelerators", "mail", and "translate" -.kmm, naming them, e.g.: "search.old.kmm",

Hi, jsnj, that was Babylon, again. I took your "blanks" for "nothing", meaning "no text". Only now realized it means "spaces" - which are the reason for the indention. I'm going to remove them instantly... - in the attachment of my post dated 27th of March.
