Hi all, While using KM if I Left Click on a link to download a 7z file* (possibly some other types as well...can't remember for sure), instead of getting a "Do you want to open or save this file?" dialog like I do if I click on a link for a Zip file, the 7z file will "open" as code in KM (as if you were to open the 7z file in a text editor). Of course I can Right Cl

One of the nice things on the Opera forums is that each user has the option of storing up to 1 GB of "personal" files on your own MyOpera Community page, so if you have an image, script, or whatever that you wnat to link to in a forum post, it is easily available to others in the Opera forum. I think it can also be linked to from outside the Opera community, but I think I recall some

@disrupted Thanks! The AHK stuff is over my head (have wanted to learn scripting and AHK, but think I'd need some hands-on guidance). But I've downloaded and will check out the compiled version! Edit: BTW, in addition to the forum link provided earlier by disrupted, there is a nice one page description/guide on the AHK BBCodeWriter v.7.0 homepage.

QuoteJamesD I have put two ways that are used to make sure readers know which post this is a reply to. I don't think the sequence is a problem. If you need to make certain to whom the reply is addressing, use @ name or a quote and that should take care of it. OK, thanks! I've been using the quote procedure or putting the intended's username in boldface, but I had just started

Some of you may recall from my first question about 3 weeks ago, that I'm completely new to KM as well as BB Code. Well, I tremendously appreciate everyone's help, but I'm realizing that it's taking WAY too much time to post my questions and replies, especially with complicated questions and the need to format quotes from earlier in the thread to keep it all tied together.

I'm new, both to this forum and to the forum posting process over the last few weeks. I have my forum message list display options and viewing display options set to the default, so I see messages posted sequentially by when they were posted, independent of who the poster is replying to. What I'm wondering is if it makes a difference to other viewers, depending on their settings,

Thanks for your reply, guenter! Quoteguenter(4) "Get a better browser, loser" That's cute; I like that! [+ insert winking smiley that I still can't find] Now, let's shorten it to an acronym: GABBL! Quoteguenter(5) "baring" is a typo? - I do not speak English. I mean a verb that uses bar, barrier ( and ing for doing consistently) Creating a bar or b

guenter, KKO, and disrupted: Thank you SO VERY MUCH for your detailed and thoughtful responses. I just spent a little over 2 hours going through them and checking out the links you provided, and I certainly feel like I have a better grasp of the issues now. Your answers should be flagged or archived somehow for easy access (maybe a forum sticky and/or a KM wiki entry), because I know this i

I've had a couple questions about this rumbling around in my head and this seems like a good place to ask them. (1) Is this an issue on the Hotmail end or the KM end (or maybe some of both)? I don't understand why KM works on Hotmail when spoofed as FF User Agent but doesn't work with the default KM User Agent. I'm guessing I don't have an accurate understanding of

How frustrating! I hope someone will be able to help, but I'm not sure it will be me, unless you happen to have a backup of the prefs.js file (where sessions are saved) or your whole Profile (which would include prefs.js) from before you started having trouble. My prefs.js path (which I think is the default) is: C:\Program Files\K-Meleon\Profiles\xw3lekd6.default\prefs.js If you

I agree. I also am much more accustomed to a Find Dialog window that I can position wherever I want to make it easier to mouse-click or to change search content. I would probably eventually get used to the Find Bar at the bottom of the page, but WHY??? when the Find Dialog window is the default in nearly everything else? If some prefer the Bar, and obviously some of us prefer the Dialog Wi

Quotedesga2 I think that I ate something strange, because I saw a post with a lot of colors. :O :B Yellow submarine ... ? Just as long as you don't eat the yellow snow!!! But seriously now, we're just getting too silly! ========================================================= guenter, are you going to save us from this madness by deleting everything back to (and includi

Guess it would have been a lot simpler to just say, "No, I already did the cut and paste, and I just wanted to delete the empty message."

Quotedisrupted man.. i got flummoxed just reading your post. you should be banned Yeah, and after over an hour I couldn't see any way to make it simpler so I just gave up. But really it's a message to guenter and hopefully it will get deleted. ...and guenter, you can delete this one as well, unless disrupted objects.

Quoteguenter K-Meleon is set to work like desgas2 explained. Did you mean to say "like disrupted explained."? (Cuz that's the only explanation I'm seeing, and I'm checking out gmx.com that disrupted suggested right now.)

Quoteguenter You do it: Edit / Cut lines, save and paste the cut lines into a new post. Yeah, I think maybe my post wasn't very clear. I had already posted both the January 01, 2009 09:54PM post responding to desga2 and shortly after that the the January 01, 2009 10:19PM response to JamesD. But then I didn't like how my responses were sequencing in the thread, so I edited both o

petrus (& all) Quotepetrus I just got the error message "The maximum number of tabs has been reached!", looks to be around 100...I am going to try and use the session feature to manage my tabs, grouping some of them into sessions, which I can open as needed. Quotekko Km 1.5.1 supports that. Open Edit > Configuration > Browser Configuration. Right-click any preference and choose New > Integer. Enter browser.tabs.closeButtons for the name of the new pref and 1 for the value. Restart km. Hey, that's really nice! I'm new to KM (yesterday) and was missing that feature and hoping there was a way to implement it. And like xpallad

Yeah, guenter, I'm just a heavy-duty user of MANY terrific open-source programs, and wish I could tweak many of them and/or contribute to their development...but "So many fish, so little time!", as a fishing graphic on a favorite T-shirt I wore out years ago said on its front (which I always patiently explained, with a little smile, was referring to metaphorical fish). And I
