Quotemouse.mht format seems to be in the process of being adopted as the standard way of saving a web page as a single file. Basically you might be right. Opera supports the .mht format as well. Nonetheless I prefer PHF over .mht for a couple of reasons. So far about standards There is also a UserJS for PHF which works fine with Opera. Wonder if this UserJS could be modified to work with the Ge

@ra It's working like it works with any other browser. You only have to download Tor (the small package for experts is just fine) and set K-Meleon to listen on Port:9050 : HTTP:127.0.0.1 - Port:0 FTP:127.0.0.1 - Port:0 SSL:127.0.0.1 - Port:0 Gopher:127.0.0.1 - Port:0 SOCKS:127.0.0.1 - Port:9050

On the long run memory footprint will rather increase due more functionality. All you can do is to check out the NoXul version of K-Meleon.(K-Meleon-NX-18112) It has a smaller memory footprint than the official version.

Thanks for the replies I already knew about the possible commands to set in for the different available movements. The simple movements pulling right to left for page back and pulling left to right for page forward might be usually be sufficient except you are accustomed since many years with an even more convenient movement without any pulling However maybe its just inertia on my side. Though I'm no w98 user the speed of the NX version of K-M is impressive. The missing extensions are no issue for me. There is a single problem I have, namely with mouse gestures. Since I'm a Opera user for many years I'm heavily missing the 'Left and Right/Right and Left' option for 'Forward/Back'. Wonder if there is a way to implement it into the NX version

Quoteguenterguess = ok all except 4 ie If your default browser has a serious flaw (IE has by far the worst record) you are at high risk no matter how restrictive the ruleset of your firewall is. The only chance to reduce the risk in such a case is to configure the browser as secure as possible. If you visit a malicious site that is able to exploit the flaw than a single port (http:80) your fi

QuoteFrankIssues with Outpost Firewall Pro 2008 (latest version) Each time I first open K-M 1.1.4 - I get two TCP prompts from Outpost FW 2008 - how to avoid them ? Same two popups for every click on a weblink (after having already opened K-M 114). Those are Loopback connections to and from Local Host. 127.0.0.1 is a trusted address, it's your own computer so you can allow all po

QuoteOpera also does this... Opera doesn't prefetch the site but uses the cache to show already opened sites. Quotethough it would be really cool to include in K-Meleon... It might be cool but would add little value to the browser. IMO rather an eye catcher. QuoteA prefetch feature causes a lot of bandwidth suckage, bad for those of us who do not have the fastest connection,... Bad for

1) As safe as the Gecko engine (Fx) Neither do I know how NIS works but it shouldn't interfere no matter what browser you are using. 2) It's the lightest on resources and the fastest browser I know. 3) You will have to find out yourself since the last time I used IE it was at v5. 4) No, Fx extensions are not compatible. Nevertheless a few have been ported to K-Meleon.

There is now a user.js (Convert2PHF.js) that works great for Opera. (demo.html+images) The way it looks in Opera: screenshot Maybe it could be of a little help.

I'm not sure if I got it right but if it's only about Google videos... The only file you need in order to view Google videos (flash) is the NPSWF32.dll. Put it in K-Meleon's plugins folder and you are done. I did upload the Macromedia NPSWF32.dll v.9.0.28.0 (Checksum- MD5: 66e103fd10c5ec43f8a075a678d108e5) to zShare

IE7 and Firefox 2.0.0.1 cough up hard drive contents Wonder if this demonstration exploit for Firefox 2.0.0.1 works for you. The proof of concept failes with K-Meleon 1.02 on my system (w2k/SP4) even logged in as admin.

QuotejustmeIt is bothersome/worrisome to see firewall alerts that these browsers are opening ports and "listening"-- Is there some way to make them stop this? It is bothersome/worrisome to see people using firewalls without having any clue about the security software they are using. It is even more bothersome/worrisome if some security software vendors are trying to take advantage o

I'm using both Opera since v5 and K-Meleon since v0.8. Both browsers have some pros and contras. The main reason I prefer K-Meleon over Opera is because it is faster on my system. Regarding some shortcomings of Opera: Since I use Proxomitron (gives you far better control over the browser than AdBock+) AdBlock+ is a no issue for me. You can get rid of most ads by using Opera's u
