Link is here: http://pardus.butterfat.net/pardusmapper/maps/orion/Pardus.html I have two browsers fired up right now. Both the same page. And at both browsers I kept hitting "Control -" (whith is "control" key and the "minus sign" key) until it can't go further. See the difference? My question is, why the stark difference ?

Thanks, Fred. When you have the chance, can you try one base on KM 1.6 ? I certainly would like to give that a real test run. Thanks again, Fred !!

QuoteYogiCan't tell much about Opera 10.5x which I'm reluctant to use at this stageI know this is the KM forum but since we are talking about Opera ... My advise to you is DON'T !! I got screwed by the 10.51 version of Opera. Soon as the damn thing was downloaded (Opera dl the thing automatically) and soon as I agreed to upgrade, Opera shuts off and then returns, wiping ou

Just found out this. Went to a blogspot site, read something and then I posted a reply, and then hit the "Post Comment" button. Everything seemed to go through, but then, nothing. The message just vanished. Try another time, same thing happen. Hmm ... Then I try to post a message on the same blog using FF. The message got posted successfully. Hmm ... Anyone ever exp

Remember EU's mandate on Microsoft to offer browsers other than IE? This British guy did a review on all the browsers offered, (@ http://www.pcpro.co.uk/features/356350/on-test-the-hidden-seven-browsers-in-the-windows-ballot/2 ), including KM, and this is what he says about KM: A browser that looks and performs like the software of yesteryear. Only an option for those running equally a

After I changed the setting to "0" (Zero) the error message doesn't appear anymore. But anyway, it used to appear (before I change the setting) at any Slashdot.org's thread with 300 or more messages. And oh yeah, you need to become a member of slashdot and turn on the setting so that every-single-message-appear to make the annoying "script took too long" error

K-Meleon-S203 vs K-Meleon-1.5.3-Gecko-1.9.1.8 Both released the same date. Both released by Fred. Any user out there can tell me what's the difference? Thanks !

Thank you for the prompt reply ! What is your recommendation on the entry? Should I set it to "0" (zero)? Has anyone done it before with KM? QuoteJamesDPerhaps they have a different value in this pref. http://kb.mozillazine.org/Dom.max_script_run_timeOh, I just checked the value of both KM and FF. Both have the same value --- "10" (Ten). But FF don't gi

I like KM, especially after I ran some tests and found that KM uses 20 to 25% LESS memory than FF ( as outlined in this thread - http://kmeleonbrowser.org/forum/read.php?1,104075 ), I like KM even more ! However there is one annoying thing about KM compare to FF. It's that "Script took too long" thingy. You see, if I go to places like Slashdot where they may have 500 or so

QuoteLuxThat's just because Firefox is mainly written in XUL. XUL is not optimized for one OS. That's why its performance is not as high as a native application that is specialized for one OS. KM can only run on Windows but FF can run on many kinds of platform, right? There is also this browser called "Camino" that is optimized for Mac OS X, which is faster than FF too. Thanks

KM uses the sme Gecko engine as FF, right? I just ran some comparison, with a clean install of both FF and KM, without any plugin. First test: Both browsers open 3 tabs. Second test: Both browsers open 8 tabs. Third test: Both browsers open 16 tabs. Before I continue, here is the spec of my test machine: 4GB of RAM Win XP Pro Free Extended Task Manager by Extendsoft installed

Tom's Hardware has done a browser comparison for Safari, IE, FF, Chrome and Opera. The link is ---> http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/firefox-chrome-opera,2558.html Can someone do the same "experiment" to K-Meleon and see how it fairs? I am sure at the very least, the lean and mean K-M ought to beat all of them in the memory tests.

This link, slashdotted at the moment ---> http://microsoftontheissues.com/cs/blogs/mscorp/archive/2010/02/19/the-browser-choice-screen-for-europe-what-to-expect-when-to-expect-it.aspx But it does tell us the special feature Microsoft is offering to their customers in Europe, a choice of browsers. Refer to this image, also slashdotted at the moment ---> http://www.microsoftontheissues.

On Opera, FF, Chrome, hitting - - at the same time will bring up a closed tab. On K-Meleon, doing so brings up nothing. Hmm... when will the K-M users get to enjoy this feature? And oh, one more thing --- I am using 1.5.3 and have been using it since May 2009. Any newer version available, like maybe 1.5.4 ? Thanks !

I tried many browsers on things that may break browsers, such as the one from evony.com, a game site They use the flash thing to run their game K-Meleon has an annoying problem --- if you type the backspace key more than once, K-Meleon will reload the game I tried other browsers, they seem to work fine Since this is the forum for K-Meleon, I wonder if anyone had any similar experience

The K-Meleon that I am currently using has two "New Tab" features. When I make a right-click on a link, immediately a new window pop up, and among the choices, are : A. Open In New Tab B. Open In Background Tab I am wondering if there is a way for me to just get ONE "Tab" feature, instead of the current two choices. I myself prefer the "Open In Background Tab

Many thanks for the info, Guenter !! I'll take a look at that, but in the meantime, K-Meleon still gives me the "The requested site did not respond to a connection request and the browser has stopped waiting for a reply." thingy even when other browsers can get to the same slow site.

So I added in both the above on the about:config thingy. And I power down the PC, and power it back up. Try using K-Meleon to access that site, still give me the error. Try other browsers, still ok.

I did a search on the Net, and come up with two possible solutions, but I am not sure, so .... 1. network.http.connect.timeout 2. network.http.request.timeout My question is, the network.http.connect.timeout isn't on the list. How do I add it in? Thank you all in advance !!

"Page Load Error" That is the thing that I got many times I use K-Meleon, when trying to get access to some slow sites. On the same PC, I have other browsers. The same time K-Meleon is giving me the "Page Load Error", the other browsers (Safari,Chrome, IE) successfully access those slow sites. What I found is that the browsers which can access slow sites has a long
